Yes depending on what type your debit card is.
In the U.S. and other countries if it has Visa or MasterCard symbol it will work

If your card has Solo, Maestro, Visa delta, Visa plus. It will work if your bank and the website you use support those cards. Some banks require you to activate this feature. Visa Electron cards can sometimes be used as either a Solo/Maestro debit card or a Visa credit card. Don't not give out your pin number on the web or by phone. Only use your pin number at point of sale terminals.

You can use your debit card just like a credit card online.

I'd stick to well-known, reputable companies.

You might want to check on your bank's policy for if or when there is a dispute over charges. Some will refuse to pay if you can make a case for i t--such as, you didn't reeceive the goods or services.

Of course you can but it is best to use a credit card over the internet in case your card number gets hacked. It's easier to deny charges on a credit card than try to get the money back into the checking account.
