Some credit cards have fees that you have to pay some don't you just have to read all the fine print VERY carefully! It also wouldn't hurt to just buy one thing a month on there, no matter how small and then pay off the card in full so that it shows you are responsible and pay off the card every month. Some companies may wonder why you have an inactive card out there.

If you have to pay to get a credit card then it is not worth having. Credit card companies make their money charging you every fee allowed by law. Join a credit union and then apply for a card with a low $500 credit limit and keep that for emergencies and to start building your credit. They usually dont' charge any fees and have very low interest

There are fees associated with credit cards, annual fees. All you have to do is read the fine print.
Please also be advised that you can hurt your credit rating for just "having" credit cards. If you have them but do not use them, it is noted on your rating. I would only keep one handy for emergency uses only, but make at least one purchase a month on it and pay off the balance.

Sometimes there is an annual fee you might check that out before you apply. If you are looking to improve your credit score you should use your card every now and then but make sure you pay it off at the end of the month and never have a late payment!
Hope that answered your question. : )

It depends on the card. Some cards have annual fees, some don't. Just remember that having credit cards is really tempting. If you get one put it in your freezer, lock it in a safe but don't carry it with you. It is much to easy to flop that plastic buddy out to the cashier and buy soemthing. I would suggest that you not apply to cards that you don't try to learn about first. Like what is the fee if any? What is the interest rate. What is the late penalty and policy.

It depends on your credit. Some credit cards for people who have bad credit, make you pay a fee. But if your credit is pretty exceptional, then you won't have to pay it :)

Lots of Banks charge you even if you dont use the Card. Get it in writing what they charge you before signing anything, be careful.

Some do charge. It's more of a scam than anything else as far as I'm concerned.
