I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Relations (Sociology/Psych mostly) and an Associates Degree with a license to be a massage therapist. I love being a therapist, but it doesn't offer me any benefits...medical, vacation, sick, 401k etc. I have mostly office work experience, but DO NOT want to get behind a desk again after having a more active job. I'd like a job where I'm pretty active all day long. I live in NY and need to make at least 30,000/yr or $14 per hour. I don't really want to go back for any more schooling since I'm still paying off student loans from the 7 yrs of college I've already attended to get where I am now. Any suggestions?

What happened to worker rights? Why do ceos get to enjoy corporate welfare while the rest of us work hard with minimal incentives and opportunities? What happened to the 40 hour work week and good benefits?

I recently left my job and i gave them a week notice. Now they do not want to pay me for my vacation time that I have accrued. A co-worker did the same thing and they paid him for his vacation time.

Is it too competive or is it relatively easy to find work? What education do you need? What's the salary range?

I am being interviewed soon to work at a frangrance retailer at my local mall in Maryland. I have management experience, but as an hourly supervisor at CVS/pharmacy for $9.50/hr, they are interested in giving me a part time management opportunity.

What kind of salary should I expect/ ask for if I get hired?

Can I ask for more money if I don't take advantage of their benefits like insurance, 401K, etc.

I'm in college so I don't want to do this sort of thing for the rest of my life =] I just don't know what I am supposed to ask for because I've only had hourly wages and I don't want to be taken advantage of.

I sent in a Cover Letter and application indicating that I have received my bachelor's degree. Unfortunately, I am still one class short and was unable to complete it this past summer because my recruiter for my internship quit. I was just called in for an interview next week.

I am very motivated, passionate, and excited about this job. It's a job that I thought of all throughout college, now I have the interview.

Unfortunately, I feel so bad that I did put that I received my bachelor's when i still have that one class left. I figured by the time I'd hear from them I would have settled or finished my internship, but again, my recruiter quit. Should I call the individual interviewing me tomorrow and let her know my situation or e-mail her? Also, it's a city position, will this jeopardize my interview or ability to proceed? Thank you so much. I'm really worried at this moment and really don't want to know that I can lose this job. Thank you.
