I know it is not that easy to take steps in this case. It is lot more complicated than to go and complain to your upper management. They will say 'get along'.
They gave you the promotion din't they? Obviously you are better than her. That ought to tell you something. She is looking for another job.
Just ignore her.. keep your head down.. do a good job. It is just jealousy. She won't last long in this job.
Saving grace is you are out of the country. Let her fry in her own fat. It is her problem.

Girlfriend, I feel your tension you know it is sad a great deal of women are such haters. They don't try to get to know what you stand for internal. They always want to judge you by your physical appearance or material things (clothes, hair or apparel) You are more than how you look or what you wear. I have been black balled from a position because they didn't like how I looked or how I had respect from people. You said it, they were intimidated by my knowlege. At the time I wasn't in a position to do anything because I was contractual worker. I think you have a better chance than I getting the promotion says you are good at what you do.Have you tried talking to her woman to woman. Make sure you document everything dates, times and discussions.Make sure she knows this is not personal, she is playing with your livelihood. Keep it professional don't allow no one to steal your JOY Pray for her and ask god to give you the words and strength to endure what ever he has you to do.I don't know whether you are spiritual but if you proclaim to be a child of GOD. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER. In my case GOD close one door so he could open another.Sometimes when we are going through we don't understand. But I can truly say we are not in control.Ain't nobody in charge but GOD so stand back and let him have his way.Furthermore,I know she has someone over her. If she keeps acting like a donkey.Take what you have to her boss and ask her boss"What should you do in this scenerial". You are not being difficult just securing your job who knows maybe there's another promotion on the rising.

What the hell? Just ignore that bi***. She is not worth it being worries about so much. However if things get serious, then report it and make sure that everything (that you and the company do) is done in writing, for example contact the human resources department because if things get really bad later on, then at least you have documented evidence and you can easily sue her (or the company).

Try talking to this person. Document it. If she continues, go to your supervisor. Document it. If he/she cannot resolve the issue, go to your HR. Document it. If the perpetrator is not in your chain of command, you have a good chance of putting an end to it, perhaps peacefully. If this person is one of your bosses, its a sticky situation. In the latter case, it might be best to leave if its unbearable for you. Creating a hostile environment in the workplace is against the law, but the burden is on the victim to prove his/her case.
