I'm asking people who are unemployed.

Just a point of reference. A starting agricultural worker makes $9.50/hr. in Georgia. Check your Dept. of Labor.

Here's the myth. If that wage was doubled, a head of lettuce would cost $.10 more at the supermarket.

Think about it and do the math. A worker can pick a couple hundred heads an hour.

Thanks people. I may have found a new purpose in life. I've felt for a long time that Americans are not aware of good paying agricultural jobs; particularly for our young people and even seniors. Outdoor work is a great starting and ending job IMO.

Are you with me?

Yea, I know people who would gladly do the jobs that illegals suposedly do, and would do it for the same rate.

It is a myth that illegals do jobs that americans wont do.
Other than pocketing the taxs & SS, employers dont really gain by hiring an illegal..

Sheesh, I was doing a computer related job for $8.50 / hr and I am a former programmer who used to make $35/hr.

Years ago I picked lemons for a rate per pound to make money. It was hard work and you had to get up very early and you had to deal with the huge thorns. But it put some money in my pocket.

So it depends what you are picking? Some are easier and others are very hard to pick. If I needed the money and did not have another job and needed to feed myself, YOU BET. Sometimes us Americans think it is below us to pick fruit or wash dishes or work flippin burgers. But money is money and when you need it take the job. And $15 per hour is great wages.

The fruit and vegetables ought to be corporation to touch in case you opt to maintain them longer. And refrigerate them when you have domicile. No telling how many days or even weeks the somewhat some produce is picked formerly it gets to the shop and then upload the form of days you preserve it at domicile formerly eating it, it somewhat is fairly previous while it finally is going undesirable.

Possibly. Would you be out in the blazing Florida sun all day, or would you be in a more temperate area? I wouldn't work outside in Florida or Texas for 15 dollars an hour unless I had no other job opportunities.

I don't have a job now, but i would rather do nothing than pick fruits for just $15/hour. I think u should pay more money for this job.

I suppose if you're unemployed, doing anything for $15/hour is OK, while still looking for better jobs.
