My major is computer science; i will get my degree next March. But I have a strong desire to be a consultant rather than a engineer. Since I have no experience in this field , what should i do to get a consultant position?

You have a good starting point being an engineer. Your path can follow a progressive and fruitful career. Get experience in a top computer or technology firm like Microsoft, HP, or Dell. After getting 2 to 4 years of experience as an entrey level employee. Apply for an MBA in a top-tier school. After graduating, you would be a prime candidate for joining the likes of McKinsey and Bain. You can also join investment banking with that career path.

Get a job and get some experience, in ten to fifteen years you will learn enough to be a consultant. What precisely are you equiped to "consult" on now? A consultant makes the big bucks because they have a breadth and wealth of knowledge in a specific area. You don't acquire that knowledge in school, school just provides the basics.
Sorry.

Send your resume to a bunch of consulting agencies and post it on Yahoo!'s Hot Jobs, Monster.com and Net-temps.com.

Best of Luck to You,
