For instance, referring to a former police officer as a "security guard", a computer programmer as a "computer operator", or a secretary as a "clerk". As if making the person feel like their past jobs were of less importance than they really were...

I'm a college student right now and I'm majoring in an allied health field. About a year ago, I was arrested and charged with public lewdness, a class A misdemeanor. I was placed on probation and deferred adjudication. I completed the probation successfully, and was not given a conviction. Will an arrest but not a conviction on a crime prevent me from employment in the healthcare field?

has it made any changes in productivity and/or morale.

Does it matter if the supervisor is male or female, assuming the workplace is integrated with men and women.

And, what about community groups or in the areas of education and health care. Has there been an improvement in opportunity afforded women in the last 10-15 years in your community/workplace?

I am currently unhappy in my current sales job, and I am hesitant to go back into retail after having past experience at Circuit City. Several of the same people I loved working with at Circuit are now at this Best Buy, and they all swear up and down that it's so much better than Circuit was. If you work at Best Buy, or know someone who has, especially in the Magnolia Home Theater as a Pro 2, please give me some advice as to whether or not you think I should go work there. Also, for someone as highly saught after as I apparently am, what kind of pay can I expect from them?

Thanks!

Steve

The question: What do you suggest I do until I find a full-time job?

The details:
This past August I graduated c.um laude in under 4 years. Since I was getting married in October, I wasn't incredibly focused on a job. I spent all of my time focusing on my son and the wedding.

Now it's the end of October and I'm getting turned down left and right. The field I want to get into has an intense competition to get an entry-level job.

While the money my husband makes is fine, we could always use more. We're trying to save for a house, buy a new(er) car, etc.

I figure that I have 2 options.
1) Keep looking and hope that the dream job appears soon

2) Get a part-time job for the season. I have to hope and pray that I don't get hired by a full-time job.My husband works in the evening, so I can only work in the day if I get a part-time job.

Mind you that I want a full-time job, but blah! That's all I have to say!

Hi, I am currently in college majoring in Finance. I have always had a very strong interest in Finance, but I am not very good in math. Everyone keeps telling me you must be good in math and now I am getting discouraged. For those of you who know- how prevalent is math in a Finance major? It is enough to just be really good in matters of finance or do you have to be a whiz at say algebra too? Also, if you majored in Finance could you tell me what job you ended up with and what was your entry level pay? I appreciate any knowledgable answers. Thanks!
