Sounds kind of shady to me, but it is legal, see below.

This would be a questionable move on your part. First of all, why does the corp. need to not pay wrkmans comp? Don't have the money. So next will be your bouncing paycheck. Second, you likely will loose your ability to file a claim should you be injured. Many corp. officers are not eligible to make claims. Good for your employer cause now he doesn't have to pay your insurance. You see, this is a raw deal for you. If you fall off a ladder, your boss will cut you loose and there won't be anything you can do about it cause your not a regular employee...and no insurance.

Suggestion: ask for stock in the company which is normal for corp. officers.

Just be lucky to be made an officer. If you half-a@#$ your work like you did this question, you are lucky to be employed.
