I am currently unhappy in my current sales job, and I am hesitant to go back into retail after having past experience at Circuit City. Several of the same people I loved working with at Circuit are now at this Best Buy, and they all swear up and down that it's so much better than Circuit was. If you work at Best Buy, or know someone who has, especially in the Magnolia Home Theater as a Pro 2, please give me some advice as to whether or not you think I should go work there. Also, for someone as highly saught after as I apparently am, what kind of pay can I expect from them?

Thanks!

Steve

Steve,
I currently work for best buy in bel air maryland. The best buy company is definately an awesome company to work for, trust me, two years working for them. Number one is the discount, 5% above what best buy pays for it. Number two, MHT Pros get paid well and magnolia is a company with 50 years of selling products the complete solution. Number Three, bonuses, you get one for how much stuff is not stolen and one for how well your district does on a yearly basis. Also other bonuses are available for leadership positions monthly.

Best Buy is an awesome company!

I worked at best buy for 2 years and hated it.

Reason: I thought there was too much pressure to sell without any compensation. If I sold $10,000.00 in merchandise, there were no bonuses or anything

If the store put up big numbers the managers would get trips to Vegas and get $10,000.00 in free electronics and we'd get a cookout and a pat on the back.

I personally don't believe in sales without commission.

I've been looking into the company recently as well as I'm interviewing there on Thursday.

I'm currently a salaried manager at another retail chain and best Buy is trying to steal me....which is flattering.

People I've talked to say it is fairly high pressure, but high ethical standards and great attention to customer service both of which are VERY important to me.

Good luck! I hope it works out for the Best for you! :-)
