I'm working on a job application and it asks for a narrative (a summary of the reasons you have sought employment). Any good ideas? Also, I own my own business, but for other reasons am looking for some extra income. Do I put my business on the application?

I have a possible job opportunity for one of the Big 4 firms in Dallas. I am currently in Austin and moved to Austin from the midwest. Is Dallas a good place to live and play? How are the people in Dallas? Austin people are very nice. How is the market for the financial services industry in Dallas? NYC is another option for me; I dont have any job lined up there yet.

I have worked with this boss for going to 3years now. I have come to understand that he does have something against me, but I can't pin down what it could be. Right now I'm working on a project for his boss. So far I have reported to my boss informing him of the progress. The other day his boss asks me how everything (the project) was going cos she had asked my boss the same question and he said he didn't know. I was surprised, but before i knew it i was giving an excuse on his behalf, that he had been busy anyway. Later on thinking about our conversation, I felt I should have mentioned how he'd try to ridicule me each time i reported to him. How can i handle my boss?

I read around already about what to do on post-interview followups. The HR lady I e-mailed just today replied saying they're still considering my candidacy and that she'll let me know when a decision is reached. I usually assume when interviewer thinks "hell no", they send me the "too bad so sad" mail in no more than a week, or just never hear from them at all. In this case, could it mean I'm at least hard to ignore or weed out if they're taking longer than what they say? I know I gotta hear something from them since it's a big name company with a lot of credibility.

I love marketing and promotions, but I also love psychology. I am a psychology major, but I decided to minor in marketing. I started college with the hopes of becoming an industrial organizational psychologist, but while taking my minor courses I discovered that I love the business aspect even more than the psychology aspect. I was trying to find a career that would infuse the two. Any suggestions?

I am currently getting a liberal studies degree (aka make your own degree) and I am taking a bunch of accounting classes to hopefully get my CPA one day. My question is, do CPA's or general accountants need to know a lot of statistics to be successful? I realize it is important for the GMAT and possible graduate school, but if I don't need it to get into accounting right now, I plan on skipping it.

My boyfriend has been working at the Hospital for over 14months and has just had a major verbal reprimand for something quite trivial. He says he wants to leave the job..do you think he wants to leave because he wants to or just to stick to fingers up to the hospital management. Do I make him think about it more?

I've been applying now for a few years for a position as either a receptionist, unit worker, supplies worker, office assistant and I have a great work history and references but Kaiser or Sutter have never called me for an interview. Is there something I could be doing wrong? Or is it true that they hire from the inside? I don't know if I should just give up or keep going because I'd really like to work for a hospital.

THEY ARE MAKING A DECISION TODAY; THAT'S WHY I HAVE TO TYPE IT & RUN THIS DOWN THERE WITHIN TWO HOURS - I FEEL THEY THOUGHT I WAS OVER-QUALIFIED FOR THIS PART-TIME CLERICAL POSITION AT AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. I REALLY WANT THIS JOB THOUGH.

Thank you very much for taking the time to interview with me this morning. I especially want to thank everyone for making me feel comfortable. I can honestly say that I enjoyed the interview.

I would like to express an interest in the position. I know this position can offer me new responsibilities and a deeper understanding of school process. You mentioned that this position would not be as fast paced as my prior position; however, I feel since we are dealing with students, this position would be more important.

Please consider me in your decision to fill your clerical position.

Regardless of the decision, thank you again and have a great weekend.
