Hi, I am a University student, but have not gotten my Bachelor's degree yet. I have a part-time job, but did not make enough money to pay for this simester, so I took it off. I will probably have to take next semester off too. I am looking for a second job, (mornings and weekends prefered). I have previous experince in child care, hostessing and secretarial positions, I have previously worked at a hospital as well. I am a good writer, (I am getting my degree in Journalism) and would love a job in entertainmet, radio/tv/magazines).

If you could help, I would greately appreceate it.
Thanks.

This e-mail sounds like a scam to me.They are asking for personal information on me which I refused to give. Has anyone ever heard of this company before?????They want you to set up a bank account for them to transfer money into and you get 9% commission of the transfer amount. Sounds like money laundering to me,Anyone know about this???????

My wife left her last job in Dec 05. She started a new position in January, but then our daughter got sick and had a lot of doctor appts. My wife talked with her employer and decided it would be best for her to leave so she could take care of our daughter. Now we don't know if we should include this 2 month job on her resume or not. If we do, she may look like a job-hopper, but if we don't, it may look like she's falsifying a job application. Any employers or experienced interviewers have any advice?

My husband and I are planning to move to the US (from Aus) and try it over there, to be with families...what is the possibility of me getting a job over the internet so that I can get a working visa? I'm in the finance/business support field and my husband in the healthcare field. How long does it usually take to find a job?

Any insights and advice will help. Thanks

I was wondering if there are certain periods in the year when employers are hiring more than others. I kind of feel that it slows down towards the end of the year. What do you think or know?

I just quit my job. I hated it because it was a stupid retail job to get me through college.

Why do you hate YOUR job? For those who love your job, I don't care. I want to have a job I love too. But I just want to hear about the horrible jobs out there.

I've had several jobs this year and I'm beginning to see a familiar pattern that is quite distrubing. Every time I get hired for a job it always seems like I'm not needed, wanted, and have nothing to do. I show up for work on time, treat co-workers with respect, and am ALWAYS helpful and willing to contribute. My last two jobs, one was a temp job that was a long-term temporary to direct hire position was cut short after two weeks for no aparent reason. When I got there I had no logins for my computer and they had nothing for me to do. At my current job, which I just started on Thursday, I see the same pattern. I've spent two days doing absoutely nothing. I'm asking myself "why would they take the time to hire me, have me go to orientation, fill out forms, just to have me sit around and do nothing?" I can't seem to hold a job and can't seem to figure this out? By the way I am highly educated (MBA) and skilled.

Yesterday I resigned, giving 2+ months notice which I think is extremely fair.

I checked my pay this week, and I have been paid, almost AU$100 less. I think this appalling.

Do I have anything to stand on? Or with the new reforms do I just have to smile and take it?

if I've never called out of work and there has not been any Performance Discussion/Counseling or Written warnings for absenteeism. All other time that I have been out it was approved time. Understanding that I can be written up for the absenteeism at this particular time is because we are going through a huge management change and there is only myself and the Director in HR. The DHR was suppose to hire a temp to assist in projects and changeover and has not. The department is also short another Manager. I am an exemplary employee. At work every single day-)other than approved time off)with a smile and complete assigned projects to the utmost satisfaction with a smile, working 55 hours a week on average. Is it legal for the DHR to terminate my employment and I have a court summons to be at court causing my first unapproved time off?
