Yesterday I resigned, giving 2+ months notice which I think is extremely fair.

I checked my pay this week, and I have been paid, almost AU$100 less. I think this appalling.

Do I have anything to stand on? Or with the new reforms do I just have to smile and take it?

Hello Jesskar, 1st thing you need to do is check (if you have a copy or can ask the secretary for one) the paperwork from when you first started working for the company. See if it states that the company has the right to change a persons rate of pay when they want to or conditions apply. And if the contract does state that and you did sign it then there is nothing that can be done. But if it does not say anything about changing the rate of pay at any time then it is time to seek an attorney. Call around and see who will give you a Free consultation visit. Take all previous pay stubs that you can find along with the copy of the contract (might be hard to obtain) and explain what has occurred. And get the facts from the attorney. It also depends on what state you are located in and what laws they have. Good Luck.

If you have giving your notice of departure, than the company can ask you to leave immediately. It is usually best to only give two weeks notice prior to leaving one job for what ever reason. It looks like the company has decided to give you a pay cut since they do not care if you work or not since they will lose you anyways.

Workers of the world are taking a beating. I am sorry about what happened to you. Employers have you in a spot where they can nick you for $500-2000, and it will still not be cost-effective to hire a lawyer and try to make them pay you.

I don't know what to tell you, other than, "sorry."
