I used to cashier at a grocery store and it was so horrible. People would complain about the prices of groceries, they would try and use coupons for things they didn't buy, they would claim items were not scanning right. The list just goes on and on. Some people would buy something for $3 and pay with a $100 bill. There were never baggers so you had to bag everything. Standing on your feet all day in one spot sucked too.

JB,
I love my current job, so I won't tell you about how I appreciate my coworkers, respect my boss and love my challenging duties.
I will tell you about my job before this one. It was close to home and comfortable. It was not a job to get me through college, but a job to keep a roof over my head and food on the table.
It was a small widget factory, 6 miles from home. 9 hour days and every other Friday off.
My boss, M, was a sneaky ****** who would snoop in my office on my days off.
My other boss, A, was an idiot bureaucrat who felt he had to talk to line bosses in order to communicate with me.
Politics, gossip and bad staffing. I went online for a coworker to look for a job for her husband. I found my current job, which I love.
I say all that to say:
First, you aren't supposed to like you college jobs. If you did, you would get comfortable with the paychecks and drop out of school. I'm sure you've seen this happen. Better things await you.
Second, you have to kiss a lot of frogs to get a prince. Your warm and fuzzy awaits you after you get your paper.

i left a job a year ago which i hated. It was a golf club, and one of the biggest in the area. The management were most of the problem as they stirred everyone and never helped if there was an issue..one minute i was getting told that the customer was always right and the next i was talking to much to the customers. most of the staff and customers were lovely but if they didn't like you it was almost impossible to get through that shift

I'm glad you had the balls to quit... No one should be stuck in a job they hate.
I love my job... big time. But that was not always so. In college, I had some crappy jobs. I was an assistant manager of a Wendy's in the middle of a crack neighborhood. That was no fun. Coming home every night smelling of fry grease.... fearing for my life walking to the car... never again, lol!

Yes, I have to deliver newspapers to apartments. 200 papers up and down three flights of stairs in 11 buildings. I get paid well though, for the time I put in, and it's good exercise.
