I'm working on a job application and it asks for a narrative (a summary of the reasons you have sought employment). Any good ideas? Also, I own my own business, but for other reasons am looking for some extra income. Do I put my business on the application?

Yes, anything that describes your hard work and ingenuity should be on there, just don't make it too long. Briefly describing how and why you started you own business can be a very impressive addition.

Only if your business will depict some related work experience for the job you are applying for.

You can put the business down if it has something to do with a field you are applying to...for example if you are applying to a brokerage company, they would not care that you have a valet parking company.
