I read around already about what to do on post-interview followups. The HR lady I e-mailed just today replied saying they're still considering my candidacy and that she'll let me know when a decision is reached. I usually assume when interviewer thinks "hell no", they send me the "too bad so sad" mail in no more than a week, or just never hear from them at all. In this case, could it mean I'm at least hard to ignore or weed out if they're taking longer than what they say? I know I gotta hear something from them since it's a big name company with a lot of credibility.

Two things you can be certain of
1. You are still in the running. Given that it is a big name firm, they wouldn't bother sugar coat anything to string you along. They will tell you as soon as the hiring manager makes a decision.
2. You are not a perfect fit for the position. Large reputable firms have a constant stream of applicants. Therefore the general practice is the interview until finding a candidate that exceed a certain threshold or until the position absolutely has to be filled immedinately; rather than exhaust all applicants and choose the best one.

If they picked you, you will definitely hear from them. Otherwise, even though they wouldn't purposely stringing you along but does not mean that they wouldn't forget to contact you with a negative decision. So, if you want you can contact her again in a week or so but what's the point.

Best wishes.

If you've heard back from the HR lady that they were still considering your candidacy then there's no harm in doing a follow up call in a few days. They probably had more interviews for potential employees than they expected and that's why they said "two weeks". Usually it takes only 2 weeks but it depends. There may be several other people they're considering and if you've got the qualifications as well as someone else they're looking to see who has the most qualifications and experience, best attitude, etc. Try not to fret yet. Just wait a few more days and instead of using email, call them on the phone.
Good luck

Well, its a good thing for them to be taking their time. No news is good news. However, companies small or large are not obliged to inform you of the outcome. Most do say if you have not heard from them within a given time then you know one has been unsuccessful. I would always call and confirm, sometimes its just that they are still deciding. Good luck!

since she responded to your email that is a good sign...but next time dont email.....actually call that company and talk to HR......and since you contacted them this week wait until next week and contact them again...and again..until they tell you the position has been filled or they hire you.
