I am being interviewed soon to work at a frangrance retailer at my local mall in Maryland. I have management experience, but as an hourly supervisor at CVS/pharmacy for $9.50/hr, they are interested in giving me a part time management opportunity.

What kind of salary should I expect/ ask for if I get hired?

Can I ask for more money if I don't take advantage of their benefits like insurance, 401K, etc.

I'm in college so I don't want to do this sort of thing for the rest of my life =] I just don't know what I am supposed to ask for because I've only had hourly wages and I don't want to be taken advantage of.

Don't manage a department for them while you are in college. They will demand more time than you got. There are plenty of jobs that pay that much with far less responsibility and don't demand you to work full-time plus while going to school. I know...I know.... thay said part-time. They LIED. I guarantee it.

Most of the time part time people do not get benefits. I always ask for more than I expect but not to out of reason. Do the interview, listen to what they have to say, and ask questions. There are no dumb questions. Then make your judgment call.

Part time manager? You probably won't get the 401K and Insurance anyhow. About $12.50 an hour.
