i love in ontairo canada, and do u think that getting 8.50$ an hr for the job of oppticall assistant (retail) is good?

I think so thats ok for a starting. And when you get alittle longer maybe another $1.00 increase.

I would say, no that $8.00 is still poverty wages, especially if you have to bear the burden of the uniform, meals, transportation.

But if this job is a stepping stone to something else, than you learn quickly and move up. Retail is retail, so unless you intend to move up into retail management, I doubt you'd ever be able to support a family on $8 per hour.

I,m not really sure but it sounds about like the typical starting wage.
