I worked for a company that employed about 170 people. Technical laboratory personnel,
drivers and many others … but no drug testing why not?

This morning when I came into work she started in on me abusively. Apparently there were a couple people who didn't show up this morning and one other was late. So she took out her frustrations on me. How do I stand my ground as a new employee without getting fired on the spot for asking her "What is your problem that you can't speak to me like I'm a human being?"

Basicilly was demoted from assitant manager because asked for one Sunday per month off during the summer. Asked the manager of that area (who decides & makes the schedule) and was told that there wasn't a guarantee that he would get that Sunday off. BTW, she schedules herself off every Sunday and before she recieved the manager position she rotated Suns. off with this person that was demoted.

Well.. I work at a group home and I cannot stand working with upper staff.. They treat me so unfairly and do not validate any of the things I do for them and their business.. I practically bend over backwards for the clients and upper staff but still it results in nothing positive.. I do way more than ANY other regular staff at the job and when I want something in return like a day off they blow it out of proportion..I feel that this job will help me on my resume in the long run in the career path I want to proceed in and that is why I am still employed at this business..

I hate what doing anything that involves phones and "kissing ***". I want to get my hands dirty and feel like I've accomplished something good. I want to be the bearer of good news for a change. I've been on Idealist.org and volunteermatch.com also looking on hotjobs and monster, but either the jobs are admin/office related (which I hate) or have requirements I cannot meet (like having an MSW). But my experience is largely admin. Any ideas?

I was offered a job in a marketing field at a restaurant that I work for part-time. I go to college where I am a history major and really have no experience in the marketing field. With my history backround, would it give me more of an advantage in trying to get a higher salary? Thank you!
