I have a yearly contract that is renegotiated each year. I am paid every two weeks though, and I know exactly how much I'll get. Doesn't matter if I work a zillion hours one week or only a few -- still the same $.

I have worked as a cook, cashier, disc jockey, audio producer, factory worker, and a few other jobs and it was always hourly wages. Some management employees in all of those fields work on salary and some don't. It depends on which job you apply for. Make sure if you are offered a salary to do the math or you might end up with hourly employees who make more than you do. I have seen it happen. I have out-earned managers because I got the hours and the raises. Watch you step whatever you do.

This job is payed by the hour the more you work the more you get payed. Sometimes it is better to get paid by the hour instead of a monthly rate.

Federal law determines who gets paid hourly and who gets paid a salary. Usually salaried positions require higher education or management responsibility.
