Do you think you're missing out on something at work? Did you know that companies pocket millions of dollars because folks don't take their vacations? And due to the fact that you've earned it, why not make time for it?

I am hearing-impaired. I worked for the same company for a little over 6 years with good standing. In order for any employee to get promoted, he or she had to apply for a position, so I went ahead and apply for it. Got the job and I loved it. Then one month after I got hired, I was given two choices: termination from the company or take the lower position at a different department. Reason? I wasn't "proactive" enough. So I took a position and hated it. They did not cut my pay at all - just leave the way it was. I went from assistant financial management to a file clerk. I stayed as a file clerk for 5 months and left. Do you think it's unfair for them to treat me that way because I couldn't communicate with other upper management people enough?

And have done an excellent job, but when it comes to putting a resume together for a job outside of the home, where do I start when they wont care what I have been doing at home with my family... I know for the field I am interested in I would be great at it. I am outgoing and friendly, and have proper phone ettiquete, I type, use ten key by touch, know how to file, and have ran enough errands to run a marathon, but how about a resume?

I spelled it out by saying "G for giggly gloworm, o, s for slippery salami, s for serendipitous suzey q, e, t for tumultuous turmoil, t for tired teat". the client laughed and said "I don't htink this is a good ideda." What do you think about wearing capris pants to a job interview? Is that appropriate? Or should I just wear full-length pants just to be safe?

I'm interviewing for a job this coming Monday - same company, but different position. They're very casual here, but I still want to look professional for the interview.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

knowing employment laws do not do any good when nothing goes the way it's suppose to.here's the deal,my nephew lands job with Wal-Mart 2 months ago.He has since been coming home with bruise's they are being inflicted by another worker who hides behind a bi-polar issue.perfect hand and fist imprints across his back that last for days sometimes week. The manager says the person will be dealt with but,the person escapes by telling them they are mental so,management won't mess with them so,my nephew is still working next to this person that keeps hitting him and cussing him.Wal-Mart is going to do nothing to an employee that is inflicting injury onto another co-worker(well,physical assaults)So,, any suggestions?I know he is suppose to be protected by law but,Wal_Mart has it in their minds that they can't fire the person responsible for the attacks, which is a total crock, mental disability or not the person knows what they are doing or they wouldn't be able to hold the job in first place.
