The true details are:
1) The office manager openly plays favorites
2) The office manager changes the rules on a case by case basis to best suit her favorites
3) The office is moving to a location that is just too far for me to drive (I now drive 40 minutes one way on a good day. The ride would be AT LEAST an hour one way to the new location.)
4) The owners of the company lie to clients and play games with them, then blame employees when something blows up in their faces (ok, sometimes we mess up when it comes to who was told what lie, but dishonesty has never been a strong point of mine)

So, how do I tell my reason for leaving without lying and without sounding "disgruntled" by telling the truth?

I have an interview on Monday that I want, but also another job said they would call me next week and that they were interested.. That one pays more and offers beneifts.. but may or may not really call..

What do you tell someone if after an interview they offer you the job but you're not sure? Do you take it or do you tell them you need more time?

I'm getting out of the Army and want to train for a job that I can do almost anywhere in the world. I like to travel and don't want to be forced to rely on the US economy.

I've thought about training to be a helicopter pilot or Unix System Admin and would like other choices to consider.

Please help, especially if you have prior experience in the career field.

PS. I have the GI Bill which is worth approx. $40,000 for schooling

I will soon begin a part-time job hosting/waiter. Unlike my full time job, the bulk of my income on that job will come from tips. How do all of you handle this during tax season? Will my employer require that I let them know the total amount of tipis I make, even if I only claim a certain percentage? Do you have to report the entire amount on your 1040's? Thanks

It's not really THAT bad, unless you are me. I was applying to a job that was paying $10-$15 an hour and they only wanted 1= to 2 years experience. I have about 5-6 years experience and only want a full-time job if it is going to pay REALLY good since I will have to put baby in daycare and, for this job, drive about 20-30 miles everyday. Well, I was asked what the LOWEST amount I would accept for pay and I just said...."Absolute lowest would be $18,000/year" I thought for ANY job! I screwed up my chances of getting paid what I should be getting paid.
This interview was with agency hiring for the company and I have an interview with the Co. on Tuesday. I pretty much have the job....I hope(I worked for them before at a different store) but what do I do to fix this? I need at least $13.00hr to go back to work that far from home. Should I email the guy and say I said too low? please give me some suggestions.

At my job, there are actually a few coworkers I don't know that well and when I talk with them, it's difficult to determine if they are being serious or just being shy.

Is there any way to identify these personalities and traits in a discrete way?

A friend works at a cable company. They have worked their for 28 years. This person is on the counter staff who takes customer's payments, gives face-to-face customer service, and the like. (This person cannot retire until age of 55 per company rules, and that isn't for a few years.)

The new manager (who transferred from a cell phone company) has set unrealistic sales quotas for the counter staff. The new manager wants the counter staff to sell 225 units each per month. (This cable company also offers phone service, internet service, and cell phone service.)

The problem is there are 8 members on the counter staff. There isn't enough customer traffic to support 1800 units per month. The customers who walk in to pay their bill are the basic cable types who just pay for the local channels, they cannot afford cable internet or cell phones. Additionally, with normal sales to be about 1 in 4. There would have to be 7200 customers minimum per month to handle the rejection rate.

I send out resumes and go on interviews and the interviews seem to go well - but no offers. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm open to anything! Thanks for your advice! :)

Any ideas welcome, serious answers only please (there are plenty of obviously silly questions on this site for you to get your two points elsewhere)

All serious answers and ideas are VERY welcome, thanks in advance B.
