All my life all I have ever done is taken care of children. I have an AA in Early Childhood Education. Ive worked in daycares and preschools and now I want out. i just dont have a patience to work with kids anymore, but Im scared cause its all i know. Im a single mom, I just lost my job cause my car broke down, and I need to get an income going asap. I think of all the different paths (job choices) out there and Im embarrassed to say that NOTHING sounds the least appealing. I dont know what is wrong with me. Im just not intersted in anything. Im not lazy..just cant think of anything that I want to do. Any advice?

I mean this as a serious question. Movie trivia knowledge goes back to the 1930s.

i mean, if there's stuff that you did that pretty impressive but not at all useful in the job you want - do you leave it out? Resume is already over a page long......

I injured my back at work 2 years ago and was granted compo but they denied continuing liability after 1 year and my back is still bad. Now my employer is threatening me with medical retirement. I work in a NSW gov job and dont know if they make arrangements with Centrelink about a pension upon medical retirement or whether I have to apply separately without it being guarunteed. I also need to know if I get super paid out to me and if I can start a home-based business with it. Desperate for answers - cannot find information on internet.

I have found that in the past, loyalty to a company was repaid handsomely. Today it seems that loyalty is not rewarded at all and in fact companies at least appear to have no ethical problem whatsoever to lie to their staff about any number of things that affect their daily lives (things like the stability of the company, growth in revenue... etc).

What really do companies need to do, and what should we as staff truly expect?

I have a sociology degree and have been doing some substitute teaching which I like doing but it does not really pay well enough. My favourite group to work with is teenagers. I do not want to work with troubled teens so any ideas on jobs that would pay half way decently working with "normal" teenagers?
