I injured my back at work 2 years ago and was granted compo but they denied continuing liability after 1 year and my back is still bad. Now my employer is threatening me with medical retirement. I work in a NSW gov job and dont know if they make arrangements with Centrelink about a pension upon medical retirement or whether I have to apply separately without it being guarunteed. I also need to know if I get super paid out to me and if I can start a home-based business with it. Desperate for answers - cannot find information on internet.

I suspect that you will not automatically get a centrelink pension / super. You will probably have to apply separately to centrelink for a pension /super. When you apply, centrelink will take into account your service to the AU Govt, and that you are physically disabled, and on compo, when processing your application, and while it is not garanteed you will be approved, how many things in this world can you name that are garanteed? I suspect none.

This problem is not something you will find information about on the net, as it is an intricate web of counter-hipocritical legislation (law) that centrelink are required to abide by, ignoring the requests of just about every other arm of government besides tax, immigration and other departments that are there to help them keep the number of people on benefits to a minimum. Ligitimate applications such as yours are processed quickly, but your situation probably wont give you access through the back door. Sorry.
