Some 13-year-olds are ready to babysit. Even if you are not old enough to stay with children by yourself, some mothers would welcome your help in keeping their kids busy while they take care of other things around the house.

Cleaning is absolutely something you could do. If you can do something at home beyond your regular chores, your parents might be willing to pay you; if not, friends and neighbors might. You could offer general cleaning or specialize in one thing: dusting/vacuuming/laundry/bathrooms . . . whatever.

Lawn care is another job--if you can use a lawn mower, great, but if not, how about weeding gardens and flower beds? Raking? Picking up sticks, twigs, and other debris? Watering?

Newspaper delivery--usually means getting up very early, and it's probably a lot easier on a bicycle than on foot. Not a good option if you need someone to drive you around the area!

You can't work a lot of places until you are 16, but what about a family-owned business?

One key factor is to let as many people as you can know that you are looking for work. Word of mouth is very important in finding a job.

Some offices may hire a "girl friday" where you could do some filing or other office related work for them. I'm not sure if 13 is old enough, but if you have a work permit in your area, you should be able to get a "real" job.

Also, Talk to a local Realtor...the really BUSY ones... and see if you can help them as an assistant. If you are good with computers, you may be of good use to them entering listings, contacting clients by email, making phone calls, etc.

It is difficult when your under 16 because most places wont hire you. Some cant until you are 18! Make a list of what you know and can do. ex: I took a child care course or I know how to take care of my family's yard.
Next, think about and list what you would love to do ex: I would love to be a lifeguard or I would love to work in a daycare. Where dose what you know and what you love match up?
On this make believe list its childcare but If you really wanted to be a lifeguard you would need to check the age and take a course. If you wanted to be a dog walker, the best on the block, read up on dog care.
Adults are looking for young people you have taken time to really learn their job/skill(in other adults too) Enthusiasm and a positive attitude will help you keep your job and they will tell others and you could have more work then you can handle.
Skills/jobs: Childcare,Lifeguard,Dog-walker,snack/drink stand,Lawn care, Pet sitting, Mothers helper, Grandparent helper, and don't rule out volunteer work. It can give you great skills for free and you get to meet people who may be able to help you out as you get older.Good luck.

Answer your own question. Rather than feeling frozen reach to your gut for what you'd like to do to make money. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at the time.
