I have an 8 year old step son. He lives with his mother during the week & with his father & I on the weekend. This has been his routine for 4 years & as far as I can tell he has been ok with it. About a month ago, his mother moved in with her fiance & he started a new school. Ever since they moved he has started doing little things he never did before. We've seen him sucking his thumb a few times & he whines alot & talks like a baby. I don't think there is a problem in the home or at school. He seems happy until he is asked to do something like take a shower or get dressed. If he wants something he talks in a baby voice. I think the problem is that he feels like he is now sharing his mother with her fiance & he is looking for attention. Up until now it has been just him & her in their home. I wish we could talk to her about our concerns, but she will be offended & think that we are questioning her parenting skills. What can be done on our end to make him feel better?

it is a pharmacy tech position and is part time three days a week but in a month will go to more hours. the pay is only between $7 and $8. the pay will go up in 90 days but only in a small amount. my question is, i have two young children. i would be putting the youngest in daycare all day while i work and the oldest would go after school. after i pay for the childcare for both children i am not going to bring home much money if any after taxes. maybe $100 a week. maybe a little more when i start working a few more hours but still at the rate of pay times minus $150-$175 for childcare i don't think it would be worth me working and being away from the kids. my question to you is would you take the job? remember i have always been with my children so i love to be home with them so i wouldn't be taking the job to be away from them. also remember all the things i will have to do when my oldest is out of school on holidays. the job has no insurance.

My dad is very ill with cancer. He was not the best father and absent most of our lives, my brothers don't want anything to do with him, leaving me to worry about him by myself. He is a 3 1/2 hour drive away from me. I have a family and life of my own. My dad has one friend that has been helping him. She tells me he is very sick, he doesn't remember to take his meds - making him sicker and she works at night and does what she can to help. The big issue is money...he only gets social security and his bills, rent, insurance, etc just about equal what he takes him leaving him with nothing. Does anyone have suggestions? I think he needs some type of nursing care, but do not have money to pay for it. Thank you!

Some people seem to post abuse when a honest answer would do. would the same people abuse you if you met them in the street, or is it the fact they can hide behind the keyboard, politeness costs nothing

"But what really astounded him was the amount of giving: In 2000, he
says, conservative households gave 30 percent more money to charity
than liberal households."

"It's down the line," he says. "Religious people are 21 percent more
likely to volunteer in explicitly secular causes. They're even twice
as likely to donate blood."

My husband works 4 days & off 4 days. I asked for 1 Saturday when he is off for he & my son to help me do the fall clean-up. I wanted help cleaning the house from top to bottom (washing walls, cleaning carpets, etc) plus doing some touch-up painting. I wanted to get this done in October before the holiday & hunting season got here. I never ask for help in the house but since I am also working plus he is the one who smokes (therefore the walls get a little yellow because of it) I didn't think it would be a big deal to take one day a year to help me. How wrong I was! My hubby never helps out - even though I know he has health problems, it seems those problems do not interfer when it comes to hunting or fishing. Plus when he "helps" it is usually working on a 4-wheeler. Am I wrong to ask for help 1 day a year? I cut the grass, take out the trash, trim the trees, do all laundry & housework, cook all the meals, pack his lunch for work each day, etc. Is it asking too much to help me 1 day?

It almost not fair to Brett Favre..... what the media has done. Here's my fave quote from yesterday. I thought I was gonna barf up my nachos.... Ready for this "over the top" quote from Chris Berman on ESPN Sportscenter?

"Cheering for Brett Favre is like cheering for America!"

Good grief!! Pass the Dramamine please! I need to breath into a small paper bag.

Am I the only one who feels this is just not fair to Brett?

why would a man that was a good friend for years suddenly start treating me like im no one, nothing to him at all, worse than a stranger.we work together and now he will salute everyone else first bar me, little subtle things, ignoring me in favour of others etc.its like the message is..you are not important to me.this hurts cause we were mates and yes once there were feelings there but we sorted all that out and things were fine. Whats going on ?

My husband cheated on me 1998. Het met the woman in the internet through chatting. I found out that he was cheating on me 2002 when my son was 3 y/o. I forgave him trusting him that he will stop chatting through the internet. Until I found out 2006 that he was in contact still with the woman ("as friends" as he puts it) through IMs. I tried to forgive him again but this time, with the ultimatum: Never to catch him chatting again or never to chat again. Yesterday, I found out he was chatting with women again. He was saying they are just friends talking and he did not really have friends to talk to. I was hurt. He does not consider this "cheating" but for me it is. Even my son catches him chatting. I'm confused. The thought of divorce and what comes with it scares me. I'm thinking about my son. I don't know if I can still forgive him. We are not talking, and he does not want a divorce, he wants to work things out. But for me, it's still hard to trust him though I still love him. HELP!
