The DVD-R can only be burn once and that the DVD will tell you to put a fresh one in the drive. You will need to replace what was already burned with a new DVD-R.

IF you put a DVD-RW disc then the computer will not say the samething.

It may be that you have two drives: one for playing CD and the other for playing DVD. Look at the name on those ports. It can say DVD and still not have a burner. Confusing, I must say but I bought a DVD burner and changed it out myself. Good luck.

Only possibility is that the disc or discs that you're using are bad. I would inheriantly goto Walgreens and get yourself the Cheap $2.00 pack for 3 blank DVDs to minimize the blow to your wallet. and see if they work.
