Turn it in -- Meg was right, they may need it more than U. Obviously, if U just went shopping U have (or at least had) some money. That 780 Euros could be the last of their savings, or they were going to buy something for their sweetheart, or for whatever reason -- the bottomline is it is not your money. Whether it was dropped accidently, or thrown there doesn't change who the owner is. If it was part of a drug deal, or dropped by a little old lady doesn't matter, it's still not yours.

Keep it.
Look in the paper in the lost and found and if anybody reports loosing a bag and doesn't say what was in it, you can call the police and ask what was in the bag. If they tell you money then you can take it in. If no add is posted in I would say a week at the very most then keep it.
It has no address and no name. Businesses usually have deposit slips or something in bags that they carry.
And it could be drug money. So I would not turn it into the police unless I saw and ad.
Keep it and have a good time after a few days of checking.

something like that happened to me on saturday
luckily it was just £1
i kept it, then put it in the offering basket in church the following day
the last time i held unto foud money, i lost it
i would keep it for a while, then be overpowered by my morals and do the following:
put the money in an account that bears some interest
tell the police where it is and fix the 780 euros so it can't be taken
when the owner shows up, give him his money and take interest
if not, after about six months, donate interest and keep the money in account
keep on doing this till you die
(however, you may wish to give the owner the interest)

KEEP IT!!
I have personally 3 times returned things I have found to their owners, twice without even a letter/phone call/note of thanks!!! the third time, I sent back a wallet which my father found in the gents toilet at our business premises, within days we had the CID around, the wallet amongst a geat deal of other stuff had been nicked in a robbery in Newcastle (we were in Leicester), the police came to us for over 3 weeks asking the same old questions.................in the end my dad more or less told them to sod off, all we did was to send a wallett which in fact was empty except for a name, and a photo, and we were treated like we had done the job in Newcastle..........................so in other words have a nice day shopping or paying your rates, I assume you are in Europe with the money being euros.................also your logo is for Nottingham Forest, I am originally from Mansfield!!!

I'd either take it to the closest shop where I found it and leave my details (person more likely to go there), or as you said take it to the police station. Honestly, that IS what I would do. I couldn't bring myself to spend it (I get serious guilt trips over the silliest things!). Imagine how good you would feel if you did the right thing?!

Ya know just recently my daughter lost her wallet in Denver, big city right! she had 270.00 in it and her debt card, she left it on top of the car and they drove off and she was freaking out. About 2 weeks went by and she had deactivated everything oh and she had her check book in there too, and she got a new account the works! and wouldn't you know it some kind soul, returned it to the police station with everything still in it. We don't live in Denver, the police sent her a post card in the mail and told her to come and claim it, so honestly I think I would return it, I think what comes around goes around.

Keep it. It's a blessing from the money fairy. It doesn't have a name on it and the police will hold it infinity and put it in "lost and found". Yeah unh huh and supposedly if no one claims it within a certain time period, they'll give it to you. Go back shopping.

Good question. I think ultimately I would keep it... unless I heard news reports of a major crime in the area for which that money might provide some evidence, then I would have a difficult time deciding, but would probably turn it over.

Take it straight to the sheriff! Maid Marion will be so proud of your honesty or you could share it out amongst the poor. or keep it. You decide! Honesty i have found is not always the best policy! Good luck
