my fiance and i have a 5-6 month old mongrel male puppy. we also have a poodle cross and a chihuahua cross. we have no history about our mongrel puppy as we found him in the drain. but he must have had some bad experiences as he is VERY fearful of dark coloured men, men generally and pretty much everything.
he also is very food agressive and has a high prey drive. he used to just be agressive around food and at the beginning has attacked my little ones. but now he attacks the little ones after i pet him and then them. or even over the water bowl. now when we r at the dog park he runs after my little ones and pulls their tail and bites them on the back. i don't think it looks playful it looks like he is chasing his prey. i really don't know what to do. it's getting so much for me! i love him dearly but i am just so worried it'll get worse.

I am worried about my sister I feel she is neurotically obsessed with impressing people. When I suggested she may have low self-esteem she denied it and became very defensive and instead claimed her high confidence in herself. She lies to other people about very minor things like saying she is best of buddies with everyone in her family, saying she writes poetry when she doesn't. I can't understand it. Even worse is now she has signed up to do a Master's degree. I am worried because I know they are expensive and also know she is not doing it for the sheer enthusiasm and dedication to her studies but rather so she boast to other people that she is doing an MA.

I want to understand her and help her but I don't know how.

A new psychology study at Washington University was no laughing matter: It found that older adults may have a harder time getting jokes because of an age-related decline in certain memory and reasoning abilities.

The research suggested that because older adults may have greater difficulty with cognitive flexibility, abstract reasoning and short-term memory, they also have greater difficulty with tests of humor comprehension.

Researchers tested about 40 healthy adults over age 65 and 40 undergraduate students with exercises in which they had to complete jokes and stories. Participants also had to choose the correct punch line for verbal jokes and select the funny ending to series of cartoon panels.

Findings were published earlier this month in the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society
Interesting huh?

I personally am ashamed of the amount of racism boiling over in the UK. This answers forum is an indicator of the amount of hate people have for others solely based on the colour of their skin, religion or purely their ethnicity.

Whilst there is obviously a problem with immigration control, that is a governmental problem and not the fault of fellow human beings wishing tobetter their prospects.

The crash team that saved me after a heart attack had 6 nationalities working together.

Sure there is bad in all kinds, that includes UK nationalities.

Some of the comments here would be at home in a certain little moustached mans address at Gettisburg!

Opinions please?

This feels like something I should know, but am just too stupid to remember. Can someone here help me out?

I am not looking for Newton's second law of f=ma. Instead what I want is if given one objects velocity and mass, what is the force that it applies to another object that it collides with (eg a rock with a known mass and final velocity impacts the ground, what is the force it hit's the Earth with?).
