i think that once a person becomes a teenager , that should be the stopping point for receiving candy, etc. from door to door.that's not to say to not celebrate..... go dress up in a costume ,walk the streets with your younger brothers/sisters/children, go to holloween parties and the like.

My 11 year old son wasn't going to go out this year but changed his mind. This might be his last time. I think he feels funny about it since going to middle school this year. I haven't tried to convince him in either direction.
