I visited the UK about three years ago and I was shocked. I thought the US was bad but you guys take the cake. Racial imbalances are rife within your community. It is evident by the ghettoization of immigrant and migrant workers, the clearly negative attitude of most white Britishers (that I came across at least), in you anti-immigration slogans and op/ed pieces (shamelessly racist, I thought), and in other more subtle ways. Yo guys don't get it - if you continue to reject these immigrants in the way that you do, you will find that their children who grow up in the UK will end up rejecting you, and that is not a good thing. You will alienate a substantial part of your population and destabilize your society.

I disagree there are far too many immigrants in this country putting drain on our benefits system and don't tell they don't get benefits because they do and we are paying for it. They are putting on the NHS costing US more no these do not have the right to be here. Then you get BRITISH born muslims who were educated here hold UK passports and they hate this country then they make homemade bombs and blow up trains and buses killing 52 and injuring countless others and you wonder why people are becoming racists just think about the London bombings the attempted bombings earlier this year in London and Glasgow it was the start of the school holidays in Glasgow and families were in that airport waiting to get on airplanes to go on holiday if those terrorists had been successful those families with young children could either have been killed or seriously injured then in aftermath at the Royal Alexandra hospital they had parked cars with explasives in them basically holding a hospital to ransom in the days after the failed terrorists attacks.
I will not apologise for my opinions but when you attack innocent people for reason other than because they are not muslims and they are westerners that is when I get angry and yes I feel some resentment and yes I do become racist and think to myself well if they hate this country and they hate the people of this country then they can leave and never look back I don't care hold a UK passport or not they shouldn't be in this country in the first place no one is forcing them to live here if they don't like the way this country is run then leave its as simple as that go and in a country where you have no freedoms then see if you like you'll soon be begging to be let back into the country.

Great post; have a star!
I agree that racism seems to be on the up, which is really sad.
And I should note that it isn't only directed at immigrants; people who have lived here their entire lives are also experiencing it.
In Manchester, for instance, Jewish people now need a police escort just to walk to synagogue, they've experienced so much hostility.
I know that Asians also are the target of spiteful remarks and worse.
Britain is known for being a compassionate society, it's one of our strengths. We must all pull together during this difficult time. Your point about the medical rescue team is a perfect one.

I agree with what Cae said.
There is a huge amount of racism in the UK towards white people. In fact large groups of muslims publicly state they want white westerners dead (some were rightly prosecuted recently for waving banners calling for beheadings of non-muslims).
Muslim extremist groups are far more hate filled and venomous than the BNP yet it's always the likes of the BNP who are singled out for attack.
I hate racism too but to only look at one side of the coin is dangerous. People in the UK who speak out against immigration aren't necessarily racist.
A muslim peer recently voiced concerns about UK immigration and even she was attacked by the PC mob. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7020848.stm
I also suggest the original poster looks at this link - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6904622.stm
It may help remove his blinkers.
Just to repeat - I HATE RACISM. But it goes both ways and to suggest otherwise is racist.

If you watched dispatches last night, you'd get part of your answer. Racism works both ways in the UK, with the portuguese in seaside towns setting up restaurants where no English people are allowed, the areas of London and Luton that are banned to 'white' people.
It's very easy to brand someone as a racist because it means you don't have to listen to his or her views. And, as long as the people in charge continue to ignore the problem of mass immigration to our small island, people are going to remain disgruntled.
I'd ask you not to just label people as "racist" before looking into the whys and wherefores. Ignorance is labelling someone without getting to know them first, which you and others who have answered this, are just as guilty of as "racists".

No. I think we need MORE open expression of discontent in the UK. We need to adress all issues regarding race and ethnicity and not pretend that everything is ok. It's the stifling atmosphere of political correctness that is the problem.
Nice liberals choose to sweep issues under the carpet and then are surprised when people blow themselves up on public transport!

I am afraid that I do not agree with you. Considering the huge number of immigrants, legal or otherwise, the British are very tolerant. Much of the racism is brought on by some of these people themselves. by preaching hate and violence against Britain and the West. If it were as bad as you say why would Britain be the No1 place for them to come .

I agree with you no one ever asked to be born-but with that why is it people can't better themselves at home where they came from? In 5 years Africa will be out of water-250 million will have to be placed somewhere in the world-so you tell me what countries are going to share their water with them? The water that's depleting and being contaminated? The world is in for an eye opener soon isn't it and a fight to survive is going to be the main game!

I saw some things on here last night andy that made me sick, I intend to email the victim of the abuse after this to offer my apologies as a white person for the way he was treated on here last night for his ethnicity and culture alone.
As you already know, I cannot abide racism in any form, there is no place for it anywhere in society and those who choose to air their racist, or even homophobic or sexist views, indeed any 'ism' on a site like Yahoo! are a disgrace.
It does not matter what your views are on issues like immigration - racism is ignorance, full stop, no excuses.
I'm off to email someone.
