Here is a tough question for both sides of the fence. It is purely hypothetical so please don't take offense or rant for your particular persuasion.

For the Atheist: If tomorrow morning you woke up and God was standing there and proved to you, beyond a shadow of a doubt that he existed and everything the bible says is true, how would this effect your life?

For the Christians: If tomorrow morning you woke up and science was somehow able to prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that God and Jesus never existed and everything in the bible was made up, how would this effect your life?

I hope to see some interesting responses. 10 to my favorite one!

I've just been noticing that a lot of atheists/agnostics on here have a bad attitude towards Christians. I just find it odd that they get upset with Christians about pushing their beliefs on others and yet they want to hang out on the religion/spirituality section of Yahoo!Answers just so they can try and crame their opinion down the throats of Christians. So I'm just curious...why do you hate Christians? Atheist and agnostic is not a religion or a form of sprituality. One side of you doesn't even belief in God and the other side says "I don't know what governs the universe."

What, now is the Nobel Truth of the Origin of Suffering?

It is craving, which gives rise to fresh rebirth, and, bound up with pleasure and lust, now here, now there, finds ever-fresh delight. But where does this craving arise and take root? Wherever in the world there are delightful and pleasurable things, there this craving rises and takes root. Eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and mind are delightful and pleasurable: there this craving arises and takes root.

-The Four Nobel Truths (from the Samyutta Nikaya, translated by Nyanatiloka)

No darn way we're ever going to prove that we're right and no way that they'll ever prove they're right. We come back day after day to fight the same fight. Is it a good fight? Is it worth it if ONE person learns ONE thing about evolution or god or anything??

The heart can either feel pleasure or pain. The brain analyzes true or false, and you are the one who must choose which is more important: the truth (however bitter), or falsehood and sweetness. That choice is in everything you do, and it is a factor in the process of your correction, your inner change.

Good luck!

As it is apparent we have an orchestrated troll plague upon us, should we not be immediately reporting all these wannabe Retards?

The reason the WSIDR is so loved in R&S is that he is actually funny. The rest of you are not.

Do what the others do I say - report first, nothing second!

i keep hearing how god gave up his son to forgive us of our sins. but this doesn't make any sense when you think about it. after jesus died, he ascended into heaven, right? so god gets to keep jesus? that hardly sounds like he's paying for our sins. so what did god give up? the flesh form of jesus? god is not interested in the flesh though. he only wants our souls. also, how is jesus paying for our sins if he went to heaven. he suffered for a few days to make up for all sin for every man, woman and child, past, present and future, and then he got to go to heaven for all eternity. sorry, that doesn't make sense. if jesus was truly taking on the burden of all of mankind's sins, shouldn't he have gone to hell for all eternity? wouldn't the idea of god giving up jesus make more sense in that aspect? to say he gave up jesus implies that god is forever separated from jesus and this is not the case as scripture tells us. can anyone explain this?
