try to write a four line ryming poem/song to praise Gods goodness, as David did all through the Psalms.
Anyoneone-else want to give it a go?

You Oh Lord are my Joy, my Light and my Happiness,
My Peace, my Comfort and my rest,
You are so Devine, God of all gods and the best,
Because of you I am truely Blessed!

Yay I did it,*smile*
...it doesn't have to rhyme!

First off, for anybody who "answers" that "praying" to saints is sinful WILL be reported as abusive to other users. If you can't respect how others practice religion (or you can't even be bothered to LEARN about how others practice and why they do the things they do), then please don't contribute. Judge not lest ye be judged, remember?

Okay, I have a pretty comprehensive list that I go to regarding patron saints and who to beseech to. However, I've never been able to figure out who to beseech to regarding the following "afflictions".

Insomnia and other sleep disorders
Facial disfigurements
Birth defects

The site I normally go to is catholic-forum.com, so if somebody has another good list I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

That isn't a question, its preaching.

"Why would a perfect God speak His Word to an imperfect man to write in an imperfect scripture?"

Then give the best answer to... "I agree, I was thinking the same thing the other day after people quoting 'truths' at me, as if the bible was written by God himself. At the end of the day people can write anything they like, and lets face it people were a little more naive 2000 years ago. I'm not an athiest but I'm not gullible either."

The "answer" didn't ANSWER anything.

Religious people using a book of fairy tales to "prove" the existence of the main character in said book, or Fawlty Towers? Cause Fawlty Towers is pretty funny.

Serious question. II Timothy 3:16 says all scripture is given by inspiration of God...so, while inspired by God, it was written by human beings....

How do you know the humans were not jaded in their thoughts, customs or actions...eventhough inspired by God?

We ackowledge that, according to the Bible...Romans 3:23 says that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" if the writers of the Bible had sinful natures too...how can you trust everything they wrote?

How do you know the Bible is accurate? How do you know the gospel of Judas is not accurate...or any of the other books from that time period that are not included in the Bible?

Please don't answer by sheer faith...because people have faith in the Quran, Book of Mormon, etc... too....how do you know the Bible is true and accurate?

And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a twig shall grow forth out of his roots.

2 And the spirit of HaShem shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of HaShem.

Some contend that “Jesse” is a reference to David’s father

According to Encyclopedia Biblica, however, we read:
“Jesse is contracted from Ishmael”. (Cheyene , Encyclopedia Biblica under “names”)

Follow up from what hell feels like, my post:
"To feel pain, nerves are stimulated, the nerves send the message that something happened to the brain, the brain interprets the message as pain, you say OUCH.. When you die, your body ceases to function. The nerves are dead. They feel nothing they cease to be stimulated by anything. The brain ceases to function, so it cannot interpret anything as pain from the nerves that cease to send messages to the brain. Because the nerves no longer function, and the brain no longer functions, the body ceases to function. No heart, no breathing, nothing. You are dead, you cease to exist. Nothing more can happen to it after it is dead, other than to be buried in the ground and decompose. Continue to follow this line of thought, and the utter impossibility of burning or suffering in hell become clearly obvious. In this line of thought, the existence of hell becomes an utter impossibility." So tell me what exactly is it that burns and feels pain?

I used to go to Sunday school and was brough up as a Protestant. As I got older though, I rejected the church as I felt that I didn't agree with the concept. I saw lots of hypocrites there i.e. people who had sex before marriage taking sunday school classes. I didn't want to be such, and because I believed in sex before marriage I turned away from organised religion.

Now however, I feel that perhaps I made the wrong decision. I agree with a lot of what the church stands for, and I feel that many children today miss out on the valuable lessons that the church teaches. Would I be welcome in the church even if I don't believe in everything? I don't even know if I think it's right to pick and choose what you agree with. I'm really confused. Can anyone offer any advice?

But it is used 229 times in the New Testament. (KJV)

(Deuteronomy 32:20) And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

(Habakkuk 2:4) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

By intervention. Here's proof.....Womans role during wars throughout history, even in Iraq, was to satisfy man, war torn soldiers used women for their own pleasures, as second rate citizens. What do you think would of happened if Pres George Bush put one of his daughters in charge of the war in Iraq?
What do you think would of happend if Pres Truman put his daughter Margaret in charge after firing MacArthur? What do you think would of happened if Pres Lincoln put Mary in Charge instead of US Grant during the Civil war? What do you think would of happen back in the 14th Century when Great Britain was about to overthrow and conquer France? And the King of France would put a 14 year old Girl nme Joan from Arc, France who never was on a Horse or handled the weapon of that time, a spear? What do you think would of happened if there wasn't divine intervention?

You tell me.

Another intervention to follow

"Try to be a better person. Respect yourself. Act grownup. Lose the silly user name and whimsical avatar."

Am I a bad person on here? Do I spread lies and hate? Do I seem like I don't respect myself? Ok I'll admit that sometimes I act childish but I think more people should! Did my mama give me a silly name or is it the title?? And is whimsy with one's avatar a bad thing?? Should we all be realllllly uptight?

and she said:

-Sure thing...look, there's his cane.

-But I can't see Grandpa, where is he?

-He's all over the house, look, his vest and the old oak bookcase he made is there too, so he's here.

-Mom, where the HELL is Grandpa????

-Can't you see his presence in the house?? Why, are you questioning these irrefutable FACTS?

-Ok, there's a cane, a vest and an ages-old bookcase, but I want to SEE HIM. Where is he??

-The very presence of these objects imply that he's actually HERE, ok?? You MUST trust me. I am telling you the TRUTH.

-Ok Mom.

.....

Is this situation not very similar to when we ask Christians about proof of their God?? All they can tell you is "look at a sunset, the smile of a baby, the magnificence of his creations, and you'll see God.."

Now, why in the world can't ANYONE see God HIMSELF, not his stuff? Just because the Bible says so? Or is it because there is NO GOD to see?

Because if Jesus did the miracles in Sodom, they would have repented.

So, at judgment day, why (or how) is it worse for those rejecting Jesus Christ than those of Sodom?
