The Pharisee notion of resurrection was acquired in Babylon from the Zoroastrians and assumes everyone is resurrected for judgement. The New testament teaches these bodies are "imperishable" thus they would burn in hell forever without being consumed. Another example of what a compassionate and merciful god the bible describes. An eternity of torment for a temporal sin. No sense of proportionate justice. No ears to hear the screams of agony and despair. Or perhaps the smell of burning imperishable flesh is a sweet savor to the Lord.

This is to answer those who say this is not hell- Matthew is clear this is the "final" judgment: In Chapter 13
47"Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
--Read Revelation 20 on the day of judgment-- "lake of fire" is hell.

20 answers lie before me, have no idea the mind set of the 20. Hell is here in the present, your heaven is within your mind. Conceive not the mind set of the millions, concern yourself only upon the needs of your existence. The gnashing of teeth, what of it? You are here, today, this day, and nothing else shale encroach.

Why do you assume they won't have bodies?

I've never made that assumption. In fact, I've made quite the opposite, that the good and the bad will be resurrected together, and thus, they will have renewed bodies just like the righteous. They simply won't have a very positive experience of God (the word theion, translated brimstone, also means "divinity" as a point of trivia).

On this subject, there's a lot we don't know.

i think ua re mistaken about the perception of hell do u really think that hell is what is pictured in famous opaintings and books.on the contary the reverse because of the human limitation of the mind.Do u really think hell is that easy.It is much worse than that its mental torture u can cry all u wnat to allow your cry to reach as far as u wnat but u will not be able to send your cries out and no one will hear u. you be alone despondent and the worse is u be there for eternal condemation unless...the father.....
so gnashing of teeth might be considered as something small not being arrogant but only trying to state the facts

The corporeal body is either in hell or heaven now. There is no inbetween - hence "now is the time of salvation." We can't give up hell until we recognize we're in it. Our survival thought system is programmed to bury our awareness of it in order to survive it and "around and around we go." Waking up is hard despite the incentive to do so.

Maybe most of the people who die are older people who wear dentures, and maybe the dentures can outlast real teeth.

It'll be a hell full of "choppers" like those wind-up chattering teeth you can get at cheap gift shops.
