and she said:

-Sure thing...look, there's his cane.

-But I can't see Grandpa, where is he?

-He's all over the house, look, his vest and the old oak bookcase he made is there too, so he's here.

-Mom, where the HELL is Grandpa????

-Can't you see his presence in the house?? Why, are you questioning these irrefutable FACTS?

-Ok, there's a cane, a vest and an ages-old bookcase, but I want to SEE HIM. Where is he??

-The very presence of these objects imply that he's actually HERE, ok?? You MUST trust me. I am telling you the TRUTH.

-Ok Mom.

.....

Is this situation not very similar to when we ask Christians about proof of their God?? All they can tell you is "look at a sunset, the smile of a baby, the magnificence of his creations, and you'll see God.."

Now, why in the world can't ANYONE see God HIMSELF, not his stuff? Just because the Bible says so? Or is it because there is NO GOD to see?

Im just going to put this out there since so many are afraid to say it. DONT YOU DARE BELIEVE SOMETHING IS FACT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD YOU "THAT IS JUST THE WAY WE BELIEVE" You question anything and everything so that at least you dont walk through life totally blind.

There is no god. If there was a god and he wanted people to follow him why were all his big "miracles" performed in times where legend, myth, and fact were all mashed together?

If there was a god and he wanted people to live in a certain way, why is the bible (and all other theist scriptures) so confused, obtuse, and contradictory?

If anything, your analogy is too generous. Logically grandpas did exist at one point. A better analogy would be the Santa Claus myth. Look he filled the stockings, he ate the cookies, and he brought you some things that you asked him for.

God is not the slave of humans and does not hop down everytime this type of question is posed at Him, we have Gods fingerprints in nature and His blueprint in the human family, you need to let go of stubborn pride and except it.

your analogy is a little flawed
they'll say well proves that grandpa (god) has been there, and just cause he isnt in the imediate vacinity doesn't mean hes not around
