I mean sometimes you feel more at ease with the world than with church folk, too much judging, too many woolf in sheep clothing, even people in the world dont go arround like, many people dont go to Church because of the behaviour of certain church people, i mean sunday morning is known as the most segregated time of the week, and yet we preach God is no respector of people and frantically utter: "judge not", sometimes there is no love just ritualism. Why?

I have experienced it myself, racism, hypocresy, gossip, people who judge u, u name it, its horrendous.
I love God with all my heart and won't stop no matter what people do, but what about new converts or the world how do you think they are going to see us if we stick only to talking the talk and not walk the walk,
a man can never judge another paul says, if u do do then u make urself God, walk one mile on a person's shoe, and only then u can get him/her.

God bless y'all

I know already, but I am interested in seeing if there is anyone else who does. Because at one time it was common knowledge. And now no longer is,.even though the practice of using false names and title are Like adonai, god. Which are not names but titles.
Do some research !

Like I have a lot of Christian friends but the ones who listen to a ton of good music, have good taste in film and literature...the ones who are just more aware of history are less obsessed with converting others or praying or going to church frankly. As for the Muslims it seems the boring their country is, the more fanatical they become...Saudi Arabia for instance, different genders can't even sit together in public.

If there are aliens out there, how would it effect religion? Did God send his alien son to attone for their sins or did he send alien prophets to guide them towardsthe light? or are the aliens not included in the whole heaven and hell equation?

underneath the sillyness of this question is a really serious core.

I was just wondering how many Christians here have read the Bible cover-to-cover. If you have, did you read it before your conversion (or before you got "saved" or "born again" or whatever your denomination calls it)?

I saw a poll about this on a different site a few weeks back and was curious about what the results here would be. Thanks!

(P.S. - if you're not a Christian, please indicate so in your answer so I get moderately "accurate" results :-P)

I heard about one; Camp Quest is a free-thought summer camp where kids get to do fun activities, such as try to disprove the IPU as a metaphor for the Biblical God. IPU, if you don't know, is the Invisible Pink Unicorn, who we know is omnipotent, since she is both pink and invisible. I think it's cool as anything, and I bet it gives some of you the willie nillies!

This was the incident immediately after Lydia became a Christian. There was a fortune-telling woman who had an evil spirit. For days, she followed Paul & Silas shouting, "He speaks of the most high God......who is the way of salvation" or something like that.

Why do you suppose Paul was "troubled" by this?

He did eventually rebuke the spirit and it came out of her but.....I guess my real question is this: She was speaking the truth (or at least, the spirit was making her speak this truth about God).....how is this a bad thing? Maybe I'm just not seeing the real translation of "Most High God" here?

Your thoughts

Why is this assumed to be obvious?

In the Jewish faith animals would often have the sins of people placed onto them and then be slaughtered. It was thought that this would take away the sins of people, hence the term 'scape goat'.

It seems to be a symbolic act of sin transferal. The goat would die- and so would the sins. It involves transferring ownership of the consequences of action decided by a person who willingly chose to behave in a 'sinful' way.

Christians believe that Jesus was God incarnate, sent down to sacrifice himself- to behave as humanity's scape goat.

Why is there a need for a scape goat? If we all recognise the role we play in defining life's consequences and are brave enough to take responsibility for our actions, why must sin be transferred to another entity. Why must God become a man and sacrifice himself in order to cleanse the sin of people. Is this because he became caught in his own rule? a rule that sin can only be tranferred in order to be absolved

"Dear Ones In Christ:

Many are unable or unwilling to say the things that appear in this book

Many things will make you angry and upset (i hope so) But I pray it will lead you to repentance and Revival

I direct this book to myself, but I also believe it applies to all of us."

Look at this rather you are a christian, or if you oppose christianity because most people proclaiming it are hypocrites. Don't let them deceive you away from knowing about the REAL Jesus.

What does that make you think? There is no point in replying if all you want to say is "im not reading it" Thanks.

God sent prophets... to teach Love, but people created separate religions in their names to spread hatered?

Each Prophet...each incarnation further divided the already divided humanity ! and gave them a new chance to fight in the name of his Prophet!!

Can we say God's Mission failed miserably ??

on the subject of my last question... i kept getting told by christians that god merely gave jesus to us and it is not meant to be taken that he gave up jesus. however, this contradicts what jesus said to his diciples at the last supper. he said he was GIVEN UP so that sins may be forgiven. am i missing something here?
