Seems like a lot of people are looking for a "lost soul" to guide toward their side. Any lost souls who might actually be swayed on here?

Well, maybe not. But I know a lot of people who would have never swayed from their stance, but after being here a while ended up finding some flaws in their reasoning and BECAME the swaying-type.

All in all debating the issue is a good excercise whether you are swayed or not. I know I've become better at arguing my points from hanging out here.

There are lost souls everywhere. You can lead any to another side if their faith is not firmly planted in their heart. I believe the saying is..."If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything." In other words if you are not completely sure of your own faith, it would be easy to sway you to another believe as long as it was made to sound plausible.

Me, a Muslim convert. Why? My own research, not because someone told me that it would save my soul.

Always do your own research when finding a religion. Read, Read, AND READ SOMEMORE!!!
Because what works for one, may not work for another.

In fact, when someone pushes me to see it "Their" way (as far as Religion), I am on the defensive, and my ears turn off. Because it is an individual decision that NO ONE should push.

BTW, have a great weekend everyone!!!

People on all sides of the fence hold their beliefs, at least in part, for emotional reasons. This applies not only to religion but to politics and probably even in the way one takes local gossip. It's part of the human condition.

The the dream is big enough, the facts don't count.

There are probably some. On balance, I would guess there are more believers leaning toward unbelief than the other way around... If you look at the polling data over the past 20 years, that's the direction.

I chose not to involve myself in a debate over religion.

I don't feel the need to convince others that my way is right, because what I believe is right for me, not everyone.

If they feel that makes me a "lost soul", then so be it.

I might be a lost soul but I'll find my own way. The "nuts" can keep to themselves.

I don't look to sway anyone. I find it more rewarding if the person I'm talking to understands my POV (s/he doesn't have to change or even accept it, just understand where I'm coming from) and I get to know their POV. I don't look to convert, but to help broaden the minds of others and myself.
