I have people protesting outside of my school against gay marriage. What I don't understand is why they are trying to prove a point that nobody wants to hear. They take a bible scripture and make it sound unbelievable, anyone can take a scripture and put it into their own interpretation, and when a pastor or someone in power does it then he has followers that believe every word he says. What is the best way to respond to one of these protesters when they harass you with misinterpretations when you leave campus.

And what does Pray for fire and yell at your principal mean..... thats what they are telling us to do.

Whats wrong (in the eyes of religion i mean) with loving everyone, and fornicating with anyone that you love?

Shouldn't we be loving everyone? So what harm is there in giving numerous people sexual pleasure?

I am not wishing to be offensive, vulgar or anything else before anyone starts. I am genuinely intrigued by religious laws and do not know the answer. If anyone could explain then I would be MOST grateful.

(If you are just going to give generic religious responses without answering the specific question, please don't bother wasting my time)

the whole "eternal punishment" thing... maybe he will just forgive everyone after a million years or so. I mean, won't he get bored with everyone either up in Heaven or down in Hell? Won't he want something different after a while?

Are we in a Matrix and that's why we can be "brought back to life"? Our real bodies are somewhere else and when we die we get pulled out?

even though they ignore every thing about it, they only juge from the bad acts which are done by terrorists under the Islam flag. As a muslim I wanna really know why they do that without having a real idea about Islam? because it needs to take a deep look to it + I have much things that prove that it is right but most muslims don't apply it as well as it should be.

I believe Jesus was a great guy who should definately be someone who should be followed as an example. However, the entire "love your neighbor" thing was hardly original since both Confucius and Buddha both said similar things several centuries earlier. But, Buddha spent six years sitting under a tree and Confucius believed in a whole bunch of other weird crap, so I still like Jesus better. But, only an uneducated fool would believe that the world is 6000 years old and we are decendents of Adam and Eve. I don't care if you believe everything else in the Bible; that part's made up. I think Jesus was a wise teacher and we should listen to him, but I think most of the Bible is either extremely exaggerated or completely made up. After all, 20% of the Bible was written after Jesus died. So, would I be considered Christian or what am I?

Matthew 21:21
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.

Matt 17

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

How do christians think that citing the bible to prove their religion holds any water?

I could just as easily write a book about my own religion that was totaly bs, bury it in the ground, come back to it in 40 years and try to spread MY religion, citing my own writen book as 'fact'.

If the christian god is supposed to be perfect, why do they give it a defined sex? To be perfect would to be everything or nothing all in one. So why is your god refered to as being male? Would that not exclude something, making it imperfect?

I'd really like to hear from some christians.
And don't cite the bible, it's a book of fiction.

I am a single mother of two great kids. I believe that I deserve and need to have one night to myself and out with my friends. Is it okay to drink while I am out with my friends? Is it okay to go to the bar and hang out with my friends? I am getting yelled at for even thinking of it. This person is telling me that I should not go. What do you think??

Personally I believe the practice is barbaric!
I'm the father of 3 boys and 3 grand sons.
None of them was circumcised,
(Contrary to some strange medical theories about maintaining better health and hygiene) They never had any problems!
Your opinion please?
