It could be because I'm a Christian, that's probably why I don't think any other religion is right. And I'll start feeling more charitable about Islam when they no longer have a doctrine of killing me or dehumanizing me (as both an infidel and a woman). Hell I'll even be happy when they stop killing their own children just to kill the people they disagree with. And don't sell me the "well that's just a small portion of the Muslim community,"
It may be, and yes, Christians have done horrible things in the name of religion too, but I don't see Islamic leaders standing up and going "This is not Islam. These people are bad and should be stopped." I do see a lot of hedging about how it's the West's fault. That's the part that I judge. Any religion or sect can have a few really whacked out nutjobs. I want to hear from the clerics that are appalled at what these terrorists are doing, and can be appalled without saying "yeah but . . ."
And atheists don't like any religion.

I think that Islam, just like any other religion, including Christianity gets a bad reputation for people who are not true to it. They get put into a group that is based on certain individuals that claim to be part of that "group."
Also, some who are true Christians, do not know enough about the Islam religion. They just know it's different and some have been taught to believe that different=bad. Which is sad, because God made us all different for a reason. I'm Christian and I believe that every religion/denomination has some things right and some things wrong. It's more about what's in your heart and mind.

Because a bad action is caused by one muslim, Islam and all muslims are terrorists.
Geoge Bush orders the invasion of Iraq and thosands die. He to is a terrorist, but Muslims aren't calling Christianity a terrorist religion and Chritians terrorists.
Because they are not. Nor are all Muslims!!!
It is ignorance that makes people think other wise.

These people are narrow minded and probably dont know any muslims other than the extremists that are shown in the media. I have Christian and athiest friends who respect Islam and dont see every muslim as a bad or misguided person.

I think most rational people understand that 99% of muslims in the world are good people. But that radical 1% gets the most press, and when we see scenes in places like Pakistan or Iraq of what looks like the whole town celebrating when these radicals attack our countries, it paints a bad picture of your religion.

It's the friggin stupid terrorists that have given our beautiful religion a bad name.
I believe if people would just take a few minutes to research Islam, then they would realize for sure that it's not a bad religion.

I think all the Abrahamic religions are equally lame, don't worry. Sure, there's some good stuff, but it's been burried and forgetten by most people, who are addicted to the "I'm right, therefore you're wrong" phenomenon. Which is why they're all so pushy and sensitive about their religions.

As a Christian, while I can give credit to the good moral teachings that are found in the religion of Islam I don't think that it is good or right because it doesn't lead someone to Heaven since it denies that God has made a way for people to be saved from their sins by sending Jesus to pay our sin debt for us. Islam is a religion of works and as it is written:
Romans 4:2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness." 4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5 And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
Ephesians 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Well us atheists don't like any religion, so there you have it.
But there are 19 active conflicts related to Islam right now. If you really want to be looked at as a peaceful religion, you might want to cut that number down a little.

those terrorist believe in the religion of the islams, muslims study the same religion, and believe in the same religion as the terrorist.
and personally, that's not good.
you can try to convince yourself that it is good, but it's not.
and if you still believe that you are a good muslim then take a good look at those that are muslims too, and then ask yourself, do i want to be portrayed as such?
