http://www.themodernreligion.com/women/w_rights_summary.htm

In a truely Islamic society women have the following rights in Islam:
1. The right and duty to obtain education.

2. The right to have their own independent property.

3. The right to work to earn money if they need it or want it.

4. Equality of reward for equal deeds.

5. The right to express their opinion and be heard.

6. The right to provisions from the husband for all her needs and more.

7. The right to negotiate marriage terms of her choice.

8. The right to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply can't stand him. (pls note that God deeply frowns upon divorce as a solution unless there is hardly any other alternative but it does not mean that men have more right to divorce their wives than women do.)

9. The right to keep all her own money (she is not responsible to maintain any relations).

10. The right to get sexual satisfaction from her husband.

will you feel like you've wasted most of you life

2007-04-29 23:24:59 · 20 answers · asked by Anonymous

I'm asking this mainly of active Christians, but i would assume those of all faiths could relate it to their own faith.

Is it the role of today's church to "feed it's devoted flock" or to merely bring in those not yet "saved"? Our pastor went on a rant this weekend about those who are strong in their faith 'whining'....."you have to FEED me!" instead of taking responsibility for their own spiritual growth.

My thoughts are- sure it's correct that you need to move yourself on (grow) in ways that are distinctly yours. and that isn't something that can't be corporately disbursed... but i think it's the role of the church to INSPIRE self-feeding, GUIDE how to go about it, and TEACH what the followers need to learn/know. Meaning...you can't IGNORE those who are advanced in their faith. WE need feeding too.

How do you feel about it? I welcome opinions or discussions... because this is a major point of contention in my life at this moment. Stay, or look for what I need elsewhere.

if their is life on that planet similar to ours, like man, or pre-man, or advanced man etc.., i wonder if our God(of any religion) are known on those planets, due to the fact that the spirit realm exists no-matter where u are(for those who worship demons/Satan like pagans/witches etc..) or if they worship God/Allah etc.. the same as we do, and if their holy books are different to ours due to some are corrupted through history.
Or maybe they aren't at all knowledgeable about religions and a supreme being, would like to hear opinions.

For those of you who wear a veil;

1)How do you feel about wearing it, is it your choice or do you feel that the wearing of one is against your freedom?
2)If you wear one in public, what happens when you are in an airport?
3)Have you experience any negativity from non muslims about the wearing of one in the work place, school etc?

Ok, I want to play a guessing game with you.

1) I am a muslim. What country am I from?

2) I am a muslim. Do I live in a good country or third world country?

3) I am a muslim. Is my skin tan or is it white?

4) I am a muslim. Am I alive today, since according to the bigots each and every muslim man, woman, and child flies planes daily into buildings and daily blows themselves up?

5) Do you think I live in an apartment or a house I own?

6) Do you think my kids are taught to love people or to hate them?

7) Do you think I have kids?

8) Do you think I have had schooling, even college?

I am honestly waiting to see what the answers are. Some people's ignorance astounds me, and I want to see what you think just from knowing I am a muslim divorced woman. I will reveal all answers in my message to the best answer.

If you don't, do you take the time to learn about their religion? Do you ask questions about issues you are unsure of or do you form your own opinions? Have you read whichever book is considered holy to them? Or do you simply ignore your differences? I know many couples where the husband and wife are different religions. Many agree to disagree but do so in a respectful manner and some completely avoid the issue all together. Sadly some feel it is acceptable to insult and degrade each other's beliefs. How do you (or would you) handle being with a person who has beliefs very different than your own?

I don't believe in evolution. I believe humankind came from a golden age that has been lost when the Tower of Babel fell. Humans have not been able to advance back to the Golden Age, yet. We are just now getting technology back from ages long ago.

Any opinions? Do you agree or disagree?

Please stop assuming that all atheists are bad people just because we don't have faith. Please stop spreading the lie that Hitler and Stalin were atheists (you can't be an atheist if you think you're god). Can we agree that it is not cool to stereotype people, no matter what? We all agree that stealing, murder and rape are bad things, the rest is just details, right? I think it would bring a lot of peace to these boards if atheists and believers stopped making assumtions about each other.

This is my absolute favorite song. Do you ever feel this way sometimes?

http://www.musicfanclubs.org/meredithbrooks/bitc.html

I hate the world today. You're so good to me. I know but I can't change. Tried to tell you But you look at me like maybe I'm an angel underneath, Innocent and sweet. Yesterday I cried. Must have been relieved to see The softer side. I can understand how you'd be so confused. I don't envy you. I'm a little bit of everything All rolled into one
Chorus:
I'm a *****, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between. You know you wouldn't want it any other way

So take me as I am. This may mean You'll have to be a stronger man. Rest assured that When I start to make you nervous And I'm going to extremes, Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing

Chorus
