For someone who wishes to read the koran? I already have the book at home. Is there a correct chronological order to which one should read it?

Some typical responses to the idea of God causing death are:

'To resolve the overpopulation problem'. Wouldn't it make more sense to not cause a population problem to begin with, unless we think humans create life.

'Nobody wants to live forever.' True, but if free will is considered valid, why is it not the individual's choice as to when to die. This happens relatively seldom.

'Humans are allowed to choose to kill each other.' But this doesn't address accidental death such as a tree falling on someone.

"Adam sinned and we're paying the price.' So, millions of years ago, some guy ate an apple when he was told not to, and ever since then, humans have been tortured to death by God. This isn't my idea of a loving God.

Is there a ligitimate answer to the above question, or do we have to accept that even death and accidents are not controlled by God, and that everything just happens?

Do Atheists ever stop and think and realize that if Christian doctrine were to disappear completely, some future powerful leader could force his subjects to worship him as a God?

Isn't it Christian doctrine that gives people the sense of liberty by birthright and the will to resist such tyranny? Christianity tells people that only God deserves worship, no human does.

Hitler was atheistic and hated religion, so were Stalin and Kim Jong Il. Notice anything in common about those guys?

I know you are supposed to give tithe to the lord in the form of money to your church. I have never understood why, because the church is supposed to be without materialism. So why give it to the church when we can use it for something usefull like feeding homeless or something?
I have always felt guilty at church for not giving anything in the collection plate, but I always saw like five and ten dollar bills in there while that was pretty much all I had to last the week.
Can you imagine in a church with sermons three times a week if 100 people all gave 5 dollars, they would be getting 1500/week...
I am sorry, but my family only makes about 1500/month. Why does a church, *or God* need all of that?

Everyone who is evil wants to destroy the Jews, it includes radical communists, radical Muslims, radical theosophists/blavatskyists, Neo-nazis and in the past, the pagan Egyptians, Babylonians, Assyrians, etc. Satan seems to have a fall guy(s) to attempt the job everytime. He of course hates the first people who returned to God when the rest of the world turned pagan and wants to blot out their memory. Do you think it would help if the Jews acknowledged their Messiah ?

Does your church still sing a lot of old songs from the hymnal, or do they do mostly new songs? Which do you like best?

OK, example.

I had a friend who was going to come with me to a Catholic Mass. He asked "Do you guys sacrifice live lambs?". I looked straight at him and asked, "are you kidding?". He said, "no". I told his mom he said this and she was like "Oh my Gosh, he really said that?"

Away with the strange questions!

I don't practice "follow" any religious beliefs personally, but am very curious as to why a person would believe that another religion is better to follow than the one that the son of god chose to follow. If Judaism was good enough for the son of God, then why isn't it acceptible for the rest of the religious believers out there? Is it because its too much work and requires too much Self-discipline? And most would rather choose a lazy, more easy religion to follow?

We love God with all our heart & live the best way we know how. We always try to help people and show them love. We are faithful to church and we had a 5th Sunday Singing tonight and refreshments afterward and my son's girlfriend's church did not have church tonight. Still...she was not allowed to go with us. Is it not true that there are only two places to go when you die? Heaven or Hell? Then, if you can't worship together here, how does her dad think we will worship together in Heaven? Or maybe he believes only HIS church or just the Baptist religion will go to Heaven. I would like some input on this by someone with something to say that understands and can help.
