Global outcry at Taliban's use of boy in filmed beheading

Declan Walsh in Kabul
Wednesday April 25, 2007
The Guardian

The Taliban's use of a young boy to behead a man drew international criticism yesterday, with Unicef condemning the incident as "a terrible example of how children can be used by adults to commit heinous crimes in times of conflict".

In the videotape of the beheading the boy, who appears no older than 12, is seen standing over a blindfolded man, brandishing a long knife. Wearing a combat jacket, oversized sneakers and a white headband, he denounces the man in a high-pitched voice. "He is an American spy. This is his fate," he says.

The baby-faced executioner kneels over the man and starts to slide the knife across his throat. Blood spurts and the cries of "Allahu Akbar" or "God is great" ring out. Then the boy triumphantly holds the severed head aloft.

Freewill is necessary for true love, which cannot be forced or created or it would not be true love. Each entity has control of their intellect the soul to love, hate, desire, contemplate, etc. This freedom of conscious awareness would be disastrous without consequences, hence the law and judgment. Otherwise, who knows how far wickedness develops? In like manner, wickedness and righteousness cannot be forced or created but each entity has conscious freedom, freewill to decide.

For the mystery of iniquity does already work in Satan’s lies and deception. Most people do not accept the love of the truth to avoid discipline and possibly to perish. For this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. That they all might be punished who believed not the truth, yet not perish.

In comes the Millennium or thousand-year reign of Christ. We no longer reside in flesh bodies and Satan is bound. It is a time of teaching and discipline for they who loved not the truth. God had sent them strong delusion so they would not perish. At the end of the Millennium is the release of Satan to deceive again. Following is judgement or great white throne. For Satan and many, there is the lake of fire, in other words, the second death or non-existence?

God is long suffering, fair, righteous, and loving, desiring that none of His children perish, but come to repentance. Through stupendous methods, God has tried to save His children from the lake of fire. Yet, many will chose eternal death over eternal life.

Why do many choose non-existence?

There are people who are barely hanging on to life and the only thing they have is their faith in God. They have lost loved ones(maybe children), maybe their fighting cancer, maybe they lost their job and are worried about supporting their family. Maybe they want to believe their deceased child is in heaven. Why would Atheists do everything possible to destroy this faith and take away this faith?

Only educated opinions please, if you've never read these two books then you need to read them before you pass judgement.

I honestly am curious as to why you do not believe in God. Is there any particular reason that you deny the existence of God? Do you really think that is world could be the way it is without a Creator? How could it have just happened? If you don't believe in God, then what do you believe in?

If a Catholic priest blesses water and makes it "holy water," could it be used for that purpose by Protestant clergy or would it need reblessing? What about the other way around? Is there any accreditation for this stuff?

I had a pretty hard time growing up like poverty, insecurity, picked on and bullied, shyness, fear and anxiety, being intimidated, depression and drug use and so on. My best friend played a large part in my maladies. But I can't make excuses now. It has affected me as an adult and I try to move on but I keep on slipping back down. I try and try and try. My life is a mess and it's only because of my faith that I'm still barely hanging on. I just don't know if I have what it takes to overcome. I pray on my knees in tears WHY GOD!!!? God knows what I'm going threw? God knows what's best for me? God has a purpose? Stop looking at God, help yourself because He won't. I'm now 26. Has anyone here gone from complete failure to rising to the top? Do you have a story of inspiration? I just want to know that it has been done before. Still I keep the faith, thank you.

why do so many of you ask why Atheists are here? Is it really anyone else's business? If a stranger walked into your church and told you they were an Atheist, would you kick them out?

Protestants assault my faith, Orthodox Christianity, and the Roman Catholic faith on the grounds that we establish doctrines with Tradition and settle controversies from it. The truth is, we consider the Bible a part of Tradition.

Therefore, I ask the Sola Scriptura guys to asnwer these questions using *only* the Bible (no appeals to any Tradition).

1). What books belong in the Bible? The table of contents is a modern phenomena. Please quote only Scripture.
2). Where does the Bible teach Sola Scriptura?
3). If it does not, then what good is a doctrine that fails its own test?
4). If it does, is your collection of books identical with that one? If you quote a book written before Revelation, then why do you include Revelation (if you do)?
5). If your references refer to passages like Revelation's prohibitions to add to "this book," then why would you add other books of the Bible to it? It says THIS book (no addition, remember?).

I predict that everyone will have to use tradition.
