There are people who are barely hanging on to life and the only thing they have is their faith in God. They have lost loved ones(maybe children), maybe their fighting cancer, maybe they lost their job and are worried about supporting their family. Maybe they want to believe their deceased child is in heaven. Why would Atheists do everything possible to destroy this faith and take away this faith?

Miseary loves company. They feel bad b/c they have done something to offend God and want to believe that he isn't there so that they can live with themselves. Whenever they see a true believer it cuts them to the core. So they try to change others belief to make themselves feel okay about their life. There is nothing to explain.

I'm sorry, but I haven't had any Atheist representatives going door to door and visit my house to convert me, or ask me to feed the hungry children, or build them a new place to gather and take away your spirituality, or donate money. Get real. Your faith is yours and unless you choose to change that belief, nobody can take it away. And if those sick people do have it "taken away", it was because they "were spiritually weak" and "lost their way". Don't put your insecurities about other people's belief systems onto us!
You have the opportunity to choose what you believe is right for you, and they have the right to believe what is right for them.
Devils Advocate would say, how dare you think that you can tell everyone how to think, act, and practice religious freedom or spirituality! What entitlement!
There were religions in the past that did the same thing and killed off or tortured people into their belief system. They said that anything other than theirs was wrong and you were considered a heretic. What do you think the chances were that your current religion was considered heresy?
Practice your own belief system and leave everyone else be...
May you have insight and tolerance for your neighbor while practicing kindness.

Atheists don't believe in God. They think everything is worthless. No one can ever take away the faith that a committed Christian has for the Lord . After all, life on earth is so short compared to the eternity Christians are assured of in Heaven. It's by grace.

Wow, you're really going out of your way to make atheists sound like monsters.

Contrary to popular belief, atheists don't go to hospitals telling people their god is a lie. We don't go door to door preaching about atheistic beliefs & trying to gain converts.

Atheists (for the most part) argue with people who want to push their psychotic beliefs on them. For the most part we tend to keep to ourselves and let people believe what they want to believe. I wouldn't go up to someone like that & shatter the one false hope they had left in their lives. Even though it's a form of self-delusion it may be what the person believes. I'm not taking away anyone's right or need to fall back on religion..... but if someone tries to push it on me they'll get stung.

I've never seen an atheist "do everything possible to destroy this faith and take away this faith" that you speak of.

You know, besides Answers, I don't see a lot of Atheists out to destroy people's faith. As a matter of fact, there are very few on here that are trying to do that.

It's tough when life hands you raw deals, but hey, people that believe in God aren't the only ones suffering out there.

For every good there's a bad exists. That's God's creation. The challenge lies in the good to overcome the bad. In this process one may need lot of determination, power and undergoes lots of struggle. This would ultimately create faith in God and make even the Atheists to understand that the Almighty exists!

he always has a reason for every creation :)

A persons faith can only be destroyed by his/her own doubt, others can say or believe what they want, and if your faith in God is strong then it makes no difference what others have to say.

Atheists are not looking to take away anyone's faith. The majority of us wish people nothing but happiness in their beliefs. We just want to be shown the SAME respect. We want to live without having others condemning us and criticizing us and trying to force their personal religious beliefs into our laws, schools, and government.

Some people are in the same situation, but they hold faith in a Hindu god. Would you take that away from them?

I don't care what you believe. It's when you vote based on those beliefs and try to force them on others is when we started getting pissed off.

If that's all you have, that's pretty sad. But hanging onto delusions really shouldn't be the way to go. You can get the same thing through drug abuse - but no one would advocate giving people like that cocaine, would they?

Atheism is a block to some an eye opener to others. I don't understand why things like love cannot be explained by science but they cannot understand love so faith cannot exist. It's just a void in science
