YES. Many years I was a drunk. Tried AA for many years & at different locations. it didn't work at all. Then I don't know why but I said the rosary. I haven't had a drink since. Then one day I was messing around in a junk drawer (we all have them). I came across a pamphlet that explained how to say the rosary. I flipped it over and on the back was 13 promises that Mary grants to those who will say the rosary. Promise number three said that saying the rosary would DESTROY vice. But then I was already wittness to that fact. She says what She does , and She does what She says. COME ON PEOLPLE , THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRAYING TO AND WORSHIPING. GOD HAS SET THESE PEOPLE UP AS INTERCESSORS. A GOOD EXAMPLE IS ST. MICHAEL.

I don't pray to saints.... I believe you don't have to dial "0" to get to God.
I also don't pray specifically to ask for things. Prayer is for intercession, worship, thanksgiving and communication. Asking for things only comes after all of the above. Sometimes I ask for things, but mostly these things are not material. they might be for one of my children to do well on a big test, or for a friend to experience comfort during a rough time, or for healing for someone who is sufferning. Most of my prayers have been answered. Some with "yes's" some with "no's" some with "have patience" etc.
The point is, I have a personal relationship with God. I can trust Him. He never fails
blessings :)

My favourite saints are St. Joseph and St. Philomena. I pray to them often especially when in deep trouble. I do not always receive quick solutions to my particular problem for which I then resign myself to God's will. But I do receive grace , strength, and patience by the intercession of these saints to handle my trial as God would want me to. I have definitely seen St. Joseph's hand in protecting me from bodily harm and road accidents and St. Philomena's prayers in giving me the necessary strength to lean on God and continue to pray when I could easily be discouraged. They have taught me to reap fruits from my trials.
And of course, as per the testimony of the previous answerer, there is nothing more powerful than the Holy Rosary which we pray daily to the Mother of God, Queen of Saints. It is called the 'Scourge of Satan' and the most effective means of staying clear of evil, coming closer to God and ensuring us a home in Heaven.

accident. you do no longer pray to saints. You pray to God. you are able to, in spite of the shown fact that, ask saints to intercede or put in a good word with God for you. yet by no skill pray to a saint. it is incorrect.

I pray to God and worship God alone but I ask the intercession of the saints - many of them. I ask them to help me pray to God for my intentions and God hears them more because they loved Him very much and they were His closest friends. When a friend is close to you, there is a tendancy to grant them their requests because they make you happy and love you. I guess this is also true with the friends of God. So I ask Mary to help me. She is very powerful before God. I also ask the help of Saint Joseph. When I am in trouble I call on Mary to help me and she always helps me. She asks God to help me. Since she is His mother He obeys her. I also ask the help of the angels and all the saints when I am in real trouble or in real stress. When I am about to get late for something, like when I am stuck in traffic, we ask the help of Mary and the Archangels or the guardian angels. Then the traffic loosens up and we get moving faster and we don't get that late many times. When I lose something, I ask the help of my guardian angel. Then after a few seconds my eyes or hands are directed to the lost object almost miraculously. When I am afraid, I ask the help of Mary and my guardian angel. Then no harm comes to me. When I sense some evil in the room I also ask St. Michael to help. Then peace is restored. Sometimes even the souls in purgatory can help us pray. We call this the communion of saints. All our good deeds help mankind become better and all our bad deeds affect mankind for the worse. So the saints help us ask God for our needs. They are certainly very effective. Of course angels are not human but some of them are called saints nevertheless. My favorite is Mary she has granted my petitions many times whether they were big or small. I ask her for help in small and big things like jobs, help when in trouble with the virtues, in my work, family etc. She helps me all the time. She is the mediatrix of all graces so all graces come to us through Mary. She is truly awesome.

if you are a christian, that is a believer / follower of Jesus Christ, why would you pray to anyone but Him. that is idolatry and giving a human being the ability to act as God.
