Yep, we suck. I'll be the first to admit it. Why do I do stupid crap sometimes? I don't know, I just do. Hopefully, I'm making an attempt to do better next time, by the grace of God.
Then again if we all acted like Christ, he wouldn't have had to come and show us the way. "Oh happy fault that earned us such and so great a redeemer." - St. Thomas Aquinas

First off, let me correct something; Jesus is not our Prophet, He is our Savior Lord and King. But you do raise a great question: Why don't the deeds of those who call Jesus their Lord match up with the scriptures?
The simple and overly used answer is that though we follow Christ, we are still humans stuck in a body that is programmed after the world, the flesh, and the prince of this world: the Devil--though we truly can't blame it on him, as God gives us enough grace to overcome.
Above all, genuine believers are still works in progress, looking for the day when they will be perfected.

Christians are people, too. The changes Christ brings into the Christian's life take some time....we are a work in progress as God weeds out the bad and teaches us the good. Sorry if you've been disappointed by Christians, but please don't judge all by one or two. Just to let you know, Jesus is more than a prophet to the Christian.....He is God.

They don't. Christians are not perfect and, at times, have difficulty in living a life as Christ did. My guess would be that either you have a predetermined view of Christians and are not inclined to believe different or you have seen a few Christians do things that are not Christ like and have prescribed their behavior onto all Christians.

Why do you have expectations?
Christians are human just like everyone else except Jesus.

--SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS is easy to fall into when one really feels strongly about Christ, but the fact is , we hardly can come close to his example!
--THUS because many realize that they think just being around the Christ idea is going to make up for their lack of effort to do our best to be like him as is recommended:
(1 Peter 2:21-23) 21Â In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely. 22Â He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth. 23Â When he was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return. When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on committing himself to the one who judges righteously. "
--With lack of sincere effort , one becomes self-satisfied and ends up being a hypocrite!--Trying to prove themselves more righteous than others:
(Romans 10:1-3) . . .. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; 3 for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. "

First, I'd like to say that not ALL Christians are like that.
Next, I'd like to say that I've noticed this as well and wondered the same thing myself.

Some do, that is for sure. There are many wonderful Christians who are not judgemental and closed minded.

BEcause we are human....and prone to error...thats why Christ died to forgive all sins...not to make us perfect...but there should be an effort to follow in christ
