our church sings mostly songs written by the praise team. they play some new stuff too. i miss the hymns though. there is just something about amazing grace that is timeless.

Our church sings a combination of old hymns and new songs- probably more of the newer- however saying that- I must say this- God has been really convicting my heart and the heart of many in our church that the song itself is not worship. All of us have favorites of course- however sometimes worship gets put on the shelf when we start comparing the songs that we sing. It is the Lord that needs to be worshiped- and all the parts of the service is worship- not just the music. There is nothing wrong with having songs you like better- however the most important thing to remember is that Jesus is the reason we sing any one of them- and we need to stop the "worship wars". If you are truly worshiping you can sing a song that you do not particularly like and God can meet you in worship.

Depends which service someone attends. We have an early service which is mostly hymnbook, very traditional. Then we have three other services which are mostly newer praise and worship. One of which is more blended (a little of the traditional, with a little of the more contemporary).
I like the blend but a lot of times I really miss hearing the old songs.
I still love Amazing Grace, I like some of the old gospel songs, like "To Canaan Land."
I'm there to worship God, not be entertained, so most of the time it doesn't matter. I guess usually it just depends on how I want to sing to God.

my church still does old songs from the hymnal. we do not sing most of the new songs, and there is NO rock at all. there is no such thing as "christian rock". I have memorized about 50% of the hymn book, and more old-time hymns that are not included in our book. those are true worship songs

I've always preferred the hymns, but I've learned to adjust to the new contemporary songs as well. However, I'm not crazy about all the new stuff. Only that which glorifies Jesus, and not self.

I am trying to find a church that still worships the way they have for over 100 years but it is hard.

Mostly new songs.

Like the new songs best, but I really miss the old songs and wish there was a better mix.
