For someone who wishes to read the koran? I already have the book at home. Is there a correct chronological order to which one should read it?

Idiots above aside.. I'm doing to same thing. It was suggested to me not to read it cover to cover, as the 114 surahs are organized from longest to shortest. But, I'm a marathon reader and am doing precisely that.

Much like the bible, you will find it contradicting in places, sometimes from one verse to the next. Don't read it with a literal eye, but a comprehensive eye. Look not for the details, but the big picture.. and pay attention.

Have a Muslim friend near at hand to ping questions off of when you get stuck (I use post-it flags in my copy of the Koran to avoid damaging the book itself) and try to get a translation that has accompanying Arabic Text. Many Muslims (especially those of Middle Eastern descent or those born into the faith) have an easier time understanding the Arabic text than the translated text. It's handy when you have questions for them to review the Arabic text and maybe offer you an easier translation.

The Koran is not chronological.
Other books (like the Hadith) are used to provide chronology.

Don't worry yourself about that, just put on this backpack and walk into that crowded shopping mall over there. Thats a good boy.
