This is heaven.
Proverbs 14:10

Not all it depends on what you have done in this life, if you have done good things in life, done great things, a great service to others, lived life well then that is not a waste, but if you hide behind a mask, do bad things, do nothing good for another and you worship god to make you feel better then that is a wasted life.
If it your sprituality and worshipping god formed you into a great, wonderful, kind, caring, well balanced individual it is not a waste
How can anyone know what to expect, they also say "the kingdom of heavan is within"
People should not have expectation of things like this, as no one knows what it is like to be on the other side.
If you only worship God for just the perk of going to heavan is that really the right thing?
There is nothing wrong with hope, and if heaven exists when one dies, and it is different then they expected...then you adjust, not much you can do to change that once you are already there, you move on and think back to a life you had in form was well lived.

I've always assumed that most Christians see Heaven as being up in the white, fluffy clouds with white robed folks walking around with wings and harps. Good luck to 'em!!! It ain't gonna happen, believe me!!! Rather their bodies will return to dust, as the Bible says. And that's the End of It. What a waste of their lives on Earth -- pinning their hopes on the improbability of a Next.

No great loss. The whole point is to live in such a way as to bring joy in this life, and eternal life in the world to come. If I miss out on the last bit, I still get the joy in this life. Of course it's no waste.
If I am wrong to believe in and worship God, there's no great loss, as I will be dead and know nothing.

Only a small number of people will be going to heaven, true worshipers of god know that the bible's promise is that the earth will be restored to paradise. Ask yourself, Do you really think that we were meant to live for 60 odd years on a ruined planet, use only a small part of our brain, do only maybe one or two things out of a whole list that we wanted, then to die? no, God intended that we live forever on a beautiful planet and have our hearts desire.

My life is not a waste. PERIOD. I was made to worship and serve ... how could that be a waste?
I have been told through Christ's teaching that heaven is wonderful beyond my comprehension, and that He is busy preparing a place for me.....how could that NOT be wonderful?

Good question, many people still think that Heaven is all about kneeling in praise of God continuously but this is not correct,we will have much to keep us active and fulfilled and everything that we do will be in praise of God, Heaven will not be passive existence but entirely active and beyond our wildest dreams.

How would heaven not turn out like you "expect"? I don't expect Heaven to be like anything in particular.

Not at all, as long as I don't end up in hell being tormented and burned for eternity, Heaven can be anything that God wants it to be and I will be forever grateful!

No, because I've atleast believed in something that made me a better person in life. You can't look at the what-ifs in life or you'll never be happy with anything.
