Because they're angry at God and irritated that they can't shake the feeling that he really does exist. I also read a great line the other day that says that people hate those who have a higher morality than them because it casts them in a bad light. So true. If they really did think God was false, they wouldn't spend so much time on a religion and spirituality board.

Amen! I think it's cause they think they're better than Christians and they try to take every advantage to tell Christians how wrong they are. They see one radical Christian-claiming person blowing up crap and killing people in the name of God and they think all Christians are like that. But the actions of those few fanatics are not what the Bible teaches. People need to understand that just because someone says they are a Christian doesn't mean that they are. There are so many fake Christians in the world today but very few true Christians. It feels like these days that Christians are thought of as the scum of the world; the lowest of the low; Christians vs. everyone else. What I don't understand is why do non-Christians hate Christians so much?
Is it our love and caring of all people of all races, or is it our moral and righteous lifestyle, or is it the fact that we believe there is more to life than money, drugs, sex and rock and roll. Christians are the role models of how every human being should live their life. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Declaration of Independence used to say "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and Property."
and they changed it to say pursuit of happiness instead of property. I'm really not sure if this is right. but my point is that people sometimes take this statement as a command or something, as if they have been given the green light to do whatever fits their fancy. But what they don't realize is that that kind of happiness is always temperary but permanent happiness is only found by the grace of God.
To prove my point, just look at the thumbs up ratings. All the pro-Chritian posts have a bunch of thumbs down and all the anti-Christian posts have a bunch of thumbs up....I just thought that was very ironic..

Have you read some of the answers to questions which might just be entered by non- Christians? Hate, abuse, discrimination, ignorance, submitted by people who, when stopped in the street and asked about their religion, would probably say 'Christian.' . As I understand Christianity, Jesus preached against all of these.
He also said: 'Let those who are without sin cast the first stone.'
Before Christians start criticising the way some people from other religions have strayed from the 'true path', they might like to examine their own religion.
Jesus also said something roughly like 'Before you remove the speck of dust from your neighbour's eye, remove the beam from your own eye.'

THEY? Who are they? Some people, you said it yourself, some people are rude when they express an opinion about anything. I don't know anyone who hates Christians, I know some people who are sick of having religion pushed at them 24/7 but most express their own views without venom or spite. BTW, I've seen some postings by beleivers that would make a sailor blush, not to mention people who can't answer any question without pointing out that someone is going to hell.

It's because people are entitled to an opinion. That's what free speech is all about. And calling someone "vulgar and crude and rude" for not expressing Christian values makes you somewhat of a hypocrite.

Many people hated Jesus as well.
They think everything will continue ad nauseum...But it won't.
(2 Peter 3:3-4) For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4Â and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”
Even these ones realise that their fathers were 'asleep' in death, and not flitting around heaven as angels on clouds...as is taught by some 'religions'

sorry to hear you were treated rudely. But you got to admit Christians are pretty pushy about their religion, especially when the evangelism is unwelcomed.
I can't think of another religion that insists on showing up at your door on a Saturday morning to give you pamphlets you don't want or obnoxious protesters with bullhorns and with bible quotes on cardboard signs.
don't play victim here, it's not cool.

just because someone isn't christian doesn't mean that they dont have an opinion on it. everyone has their opinions and there right to express it if they wish. just dont take someone elses beliefs the wrong wrong way, they usually dont mean it offensively

they think they are being cool....
they actually LOVE the, "the christians are out to get me" attitude. Deep down they know it's a load of rubbish but it gives them some purpose in life..
