That may be debatable. But one thing for sure-he is no American. He is a criminal that should have been executed. When I think back about those who deserted their country I think of people like Cassius Clay, Bill Clinton, and John W Lynd. All dogs of the lowest breed. Then there are others like-Audy Murphy, Ronald Reagan, and Pat Tillman. All fine people of the highest caliber.
Yes, Clay is a coward. Mohammad Ali-give me a break. He is a phony Muslim.

Yeah, a big coward.
Only took on the establishment, Vietnam war, racists, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Norton, Shavers, lost three years of his prime and millions of dollars to stand for what he believed.

He easily wasn't a coward. Given his place, he might desire to truly have left the rustic and confronted no outcomes different than exile. Or he might have commonplace the draft and virtually easily have spent his term in quite common circumstances nowhere close to enemy hearth, as Willie Mays did in the process the Korean conflict, and particularly some known actors and athletes in WWII. figuring out directly to proceed to be interior the U. S. and face imprisonment took braveness. no rely if his movements constituted disloyalty to the rustic is finally a rely of non-public ideals, not in all probability answerable. i think of that's honorable to refuse provider in a conflict you have confidence should not be fought interior the 1st place, yet others might disagree.

Muhammad Ali is in no way a coward. He refused the draft on principle, not out of cowardice, and you can be sure it was not an easy thing to do.

That is why he chose to be a Muslim. He does not want war and he thought Islam is peaceful. Maybe if he knew how to plant bomb in a car or mines by the roadside that can kill an enemy without him facing them, he could have joined. The trouble is he knew that American soldiers fight in the open and never by cowardly acts so, being an American, he did not join.
