No. I am Asatru. My father and mother are both devout Catholics. My mother has actually disowned me because of my beliefs. She condemns me to Hell everyday even though I don't believe in such a place. I still love her though.

They were disappointed in me about ten years ago when I told them I was an atheist. I've been Asatru for about five years and I think they have chosen to ignore me altogether now. I hope they will understand one day. I don't want them to go to the grave thinking their son worships Satan.

Great question. Thanks for asking.

Some yes Some no. I was raised Catholic... I still hold beliefs in God in the trinity... and many other basic beliefs. But as I became an adult and began to read the bible for myself (something i think should have happened when i was much younger) I began to see many Catholic beliefs didn't seem to wash with scripture... things like Mary being the coredemtress with christ or that she is the mother of God. Praying to anyone else but God being that the only mediator between God and Man is Jesus Christ. The pope being given divine inspiration when he sits in a certain chair with a certain hat on. Actually the whole concept of the pope doesn't seem to wash with scripture to me... Futher more my parents have a very universalist view. Be a good person and you'll get to heaven... when the Goodness of the person has nothing to do with the status of their salvation. It was and still is very difficult for me to understand how one could say they are a christian when most of the things Christ taught they don't believe.

I do how ever think it is very normal and healthy for every child to go insearch of their own faith. To take their parents faith and see what they actually believe and what they just respected because they respected their parents faith. Everyone goes through it... some come out better than others on the otherside.

Yes, I was raised Mormon but then I found the true Christ of the Bible. Several years later my parents did too and left the LDS church for a Bible believing one. Now they have the same beliefs that I do!

The information and beliefs that parents impart to their children
at a young age (From birth to six) are never forgotten in later
life. Therefore the children are likely to hold the same beliefs
as their parents in adult life. I was reared in the Christian faith
and still believe as my parents did.

The vast majority of muslims believe what their parents believe. This is because muslims are known to be extremely devoted to islam. Especially in Middle Eastern coutries, where you have to respect your parents, and if you're not muslim you'll be a victim of terror and jihad(holy war where nonmuslims are killed). I would say that all muslims believe what their parents tell them, but then I'll be harrassed and being told that "not all...bla bla bla.." Moslty all muslims believe what their parents tell them. Not christians, because once a person finds Jesus and his awesome and wise words, they become purely Christian, and this is by our own will because most Christian nations are pure, peaceful and free; so we're free to choose whatever religion we want to follow. This is how I know we're not force to be Christian, we find Jesus by our own will, unlike muslims; they must follow allah, or they'll be decapotated. Notice most muslim nations, where islam is a majority, are not good nations. They're violent, cruel, terrorizing, women are still property, the koran book allows poligamy and killing, and so on.....

No. My father is innocently a devout catholic because of all the fond memories he had as child, celebrating hispanic catholic traditions. I love him to bits but I'm on a quest for truth. To me, truth can not be found in a single religion. There are bits of truth in all religions, just as there are all different types of good people in different religions. I've exposed myself to many religions, but nothing has made more of an impact on me then my relationship with God through prayer. People who believe that there is one true religion, also believe the ones following this religion are the only ones that are going to get saved. That's just not conceivable in my head because I believe God's love for us in infinitely greater, and something we as humans, will never grasp

Nope.
My Mother was a Witch and my Father is a Satanist. And I am confused.I have studied both through out my life, but I don't really know what I consider myself. I see good in every religion. I just take the pieces I like and apply them to my life.

No, I renounced my parents, their beliefs, their culture, their race, their faith, their values and everything about them. They put so many stumbling blocks in my way when I was trying to develop myself as a person and invest in my future that I basically cast them out of my sight completely. They were atheist, I tried to be christian for about four years and then I kind of gave up.

Father - yes

Mother - not even close.

I am an lapsed Catholic (lapsed all the way to atheist) as is my father. My mother was a Baptist who converted to Catholicism to marry my father. She is now more or less a lapsed Catholic but is thinking of going back to church regularly. She also believes in ghosts, psychics, mediums and all that BULLSHlT as well practices Reiki. Needless to say my parents don't discuss religion too often.

No, my parents believe I am a good person.
I have not entirely copied their religious lifestyle either. Different circumstances are more to blame than the rebel in me for these changes.
